Lisle makes great specialty auto tools. My grandfather was an ex-Navy Seabee mechanic and after WWII he opened and owned his own repair shop beginning from 1948 -1988 when he passed away. He owned a LOT of Lisle specialty tools and always liked them, comparing them to Snap On. Pro/Con for this set of chisels below:Pro:-Far more durable than the orange Sino chisels that chip and snap-Great for removing motorcycle registrations stickers from cycle license plates, inspection and registration stickers from car windshields, paint from woodwork, baked on grime in ovens, counter top crud, cleaning stuck on litter from litter boxes, cleaning non-stick and regular cookware and 20 other uses where a putty knife, razor blade or regular scraper is too aggressive. 2 years ago, I ruined custom cycle license plate with a razor scraper - these chisels eliminated that issue.Con:-My only "con" for these chisels is that the neck on the chisel is totally round and these roll around like golf balls on a stick. I was using one on my workbench today and it rolled off the bench - twice and last week, one rolled under my car. I came up with a "fix" for that problem (see photo). I ground four "flats" on the neck with a disk sander. Problem solved.Really like these tools and they are 4.5 stars with the round neck. With my 30 second "flat fix", it's a 5 star tool. Hope that helps!

These are very handy for body work on your car. They are surprisingly sharp and sturdy, but still definitely not marking. I replaced some window seals on my BMW - these were crucial to not cracking the glass or scratching the paint. You probably only need one, but having a few widths is nice. I have a cheap set from Harbor Freight - they are more or less worthless because they are not sharp or sturdy - they bend too easily - and they were not that much cheaper than these.

The package delivered contained orange chisels, made in Taiwan.I called Lisle Customer Service to find out what was the story and was told that yes, they are orange and yes they are made in Taiwan.Effectively, I paid a premium for an incorrect product description, hoping to support "buy made in American".When new, the chisels are sharp. If I find they are in fact more durable better than the cheap ones, I will change my review.

These work perfect to remove emblems that are installed with double-back tape while not scratching the surface at all. Just heat around the emblem a little with a heat gun, then slip the chisel behind the emblem and pry it off. Then heat the tape residue, and scrap it off with the same chisel until you get enough off to clean the rest with adhesive remover.Afterward, I will clean any ghost from the tape with Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and rubbing alcohol.

Surprisingly helpful tools. I bought them to scrap old caulking off RV roof. They work great for that by the way. Also find myself using them quite often for other things. They hold up pretty well although you may have to put a new edge on them from time to time. Wish I had bought something like these a long time ago.

Purchased for transmission pan removal of a 4 year old Mazda 3, I read a review from someone who used this exact set for the same application. I started using the smallest edged chisel to pry the pan from the transmission body, it lost its edge entirely after 5 rubber mallet blows, after the third blow the middle section of the chisel started giving way, while the edges were still intact. The edges only last 2 more swings of moderate force. When I put this one down, the end was pretty much U-shaped - see photo. After the fifth blow and the pan had begun to loosen up, so I switched to the middle sized chisel. It took 6 more mallet blows and the pan was freed. I used the same chisel to scrape the transmission body and pan of old OEM gasket maker, after 30 minutes of scraping, the edges were worn but still in pretty decent shape. They did not scratch, mar or damage either the transmission body or the pan - they worked perfectly! My only gripe is the small sized chisel (and the one that would be the most convenient for my application) is wedged on both sides, which might explain why it wore three times as quickly as the mid-sized chisel. (see picture)I bought these expecting them to be disposable tools after this project (transmission pan removal is very destructive). The smallest size will need a great deal of retooling effort and honing, the mid sized will need some honing. The mid sized chisel did great, and it's durability met my expectations. The smallest one did not though, which I relate to the shape, being chiseled on both sides means there's less material at the point of impact. It's awesome though they can be retooled but the manufacture does not provide any details ( recommended speed of bench grinder, grit recommended, etc.) besides those 2 complaints they did the trick for me and did not split, crack or fracture during this project.

Very nice Lisle Tools.... great protection so you don't hit your hand, etc. with the hammer you are using. They are very heavy-duty and I think they will work perfectly for taking off old stick on wheel weights and the left behind glue...

A little brittle but work as a scraper as expected. Held a good edge.

Bought the set specifically for the 3/4" chisel in order to change the rear window weatherstripping on my BMW. Worked flawlessly. No scratches to the car in the removal/installation.
