I used this tape to secure my anchoring points for my arch to a painted wood marquee numbers. It worked like a dream and when the owner came to pick up the numbers; I was asked to remove the ballons. They released leaving no residue and not causing any damage. Then vendor expressed gratitude for using both painters tape and gaffer tape, then stated that often other products had been used that usually destroy the finish. I did use painters tape but I used more gaffer tape because the hold was better and fishing line didn't tear through it.

This tape smells like Juicy Fruit gum. It has a light to medium tack power. It measures .20mm thick, which is slightly thicker than regular 3m Black Duct tape (.17mm). The tape is exactly 1.975" wide. The revealed side of the tape is made of a tough, almost plastic or rubbery material. The sticky side is white and has a woven fabric core sort of thing going on similar to classic duct tape, though the fabric fibers are only visible on the seam of the tape. This is NOT the vinyl coated cloth gaffer's tape that I have become accustomed to.Be aware, this is absolutely an imitation product and should be in a class of its own. It's NOT gaffer's tape, at least not the original GAFF tape. This tape has a semi-matte surface, but it gives off some reflectivity and shouldn't be used as a replacement for regular gaffer's tape. Genuine gaffer's tape is meant for theater, plays, or hiding cables for presentations and should be non-reflective.Despite the fact that it's obviously an imitation product, it deserves a 5/5 rating because it's inexpensive and does manage to fill the category of "black fabric tape" quite well. It's very light, easy to tear, and the black finish gives off a nice, flat look. With good surface preparation and proper pressure applied I'm sure this tape will handle any job duct tape could. The way they market it as an alternative to duct tape is the most accurate thing about the product, because it definitely LOOKS a lot better than the polyethylene coated traditional shiny duct tape. The adhesive is probably the weak point, but that is to be expected with an inexpensive imitation product. That being said I wouldn't purchase it again because duct tape, although doesn't look as fancy, is more affordable and will get the job done the same if not better. For true Gaffer's tape, look elsewhere. For a light tack duct tape with a flat black stamped non-woven finish, look no further.

This is a great price on this gaff tape, especially this size. Gaff tape not only works well in the music and theater production industry, but is a better alternative for many in home applications as it is strong tape but leaves no glue residue.

It has a nice, cloth-like feel to the outside, like gaffers tape. What's different from real gaffers tape is that it's thinner, and it is stickier like duct tape.I used this 4" tape to hold down grass carpet for 24 hours for a scene. It worked great on vinyl tile and on ordinary carpet. No residue left behind. The adhesive was so strong, it lifted up one of the old vinyl tiles on the stage floor but those tiles were looking pretty ancient.I wouldn't use this for cables. I don't trust this adhesive to behave like real gaffers tape.It was exactly what I needed, and it didn't damage the grass carpet when I peeled it off the next day.

If you go through a lot of gaffers this one is a great buy for keeping cords down on any surface including carpet.

I bought this tape because there was not suppose to be any residue when you remove it.This tape is everything it says it is. The tape sticks well to most surfaces and leaves no residue when removed.

I must admit, first and foremost, that I did not use this for its intended use. What I did use it for is fashion, so if you're looking for a review about taping your breasts, this is it. This product worked excellent; I am rather-well endowed and wore this comfortably and securely throughout the night. It did not pull painfully at my skin, yet was surprisingly easy to move, and even stuck well if it had to be adjusted. If you want to tape your breasts like a celebrity at a movie premier, I strongly recommend gaffer's tape as oppsed to duct tape, and this brand was wonderful. I have been using it to secure some wires running from my television, my vanity mirror, and my desktop computer, so it does really also does work very well for its intended purposes.

2 inches is okay, but then you have to use another length to make sure the wires underneath are not a tripping hazard. definitely buy the 3 inch.

First time trying this gaffe tape and very happy with it. Fabric and not duct-tape-feel, and sticks very well to everything. Used it for my mobile DJ gigs over Christmas and it performed well!
