Because RV windows use cheap foam gaskets to seal them and they all leak around them. We took each window out and replaced the foam gasket with butyl tape, this works great. Because the butyl tape is only 1/8†thick, we doubled the butyl tape , most of the edges squeezed some butyl tape out. It works great. Remember the holes are cut bigger than the windows, so you have to shim the bottom to cover evenly over the window holes. The windows came out easily, the hardest part is taking down the curtains and removing old caulking. You do have to put the butyl tape in the freezer for at least 30 minutes or overnight. It won’t peel off the paper if you don’t freeze it. One roll of butyl tape lasted for one bigger rv window, if you double the butyl tape gasket. Great product and saves your rv windows from leaking. The rv factory should use butyl tape and not the cheap foam gaskets. I used the black color butyl tape, it matches my rv windows and won’t show the dirt.

Great deal for 4 rolls of butyl tape in two different colors. Consider this a true bargain. Others cost same for much much less quantity.

I used this for replacing old cracked seals on my popup camper. Rather than messing with some type of caulk, this tape goes between the frame (of a vent or access door) and the camper surface. It seals when you press the frame back in place and tighten the mounting screws. Any excess is easily trimmed off. You can cut it into narrower strips to suit the task at hand. Also works great as a temporary fix for gaps - just cut a sliver of the correct length/width and work it into the gap with one of the included plastic scraper tools. I have a lot left over and can think of many good uses for that.

I am delighted with the 2 Packs of Butyl Tape. The tape's adhesion is outstanding, securely sealing various surfaces. I used it to create a seal around an exterior window in my sunroom, letting moisture in when it rained. Removing the tape is also straightforward, allowing for hassle-free repositioning or replacement. Since I'm not a professional, the ease of removal was a significant advantage.Additionally, the value for the money is exceptional, as the two packs offer plenty of tape length for multiple projects. Including tools with the tape is a bonus that adds even more convenience to the application process. However, one minor drawback is that the tape may lose some adhesion in sweltering weather conditions, requiring periodic checks and reapplication. Overall, the 2 Packs Butyl Tape is reliable regarding adhesion and ease of removal. It provides fantastic value for the money, and the additional tools make it a versatile option for various sealing needs.

This Butyl calking tape is a convenient way to get a consistent amount of material onto your project. The tools help shape the calking to make the job look professional. This product is sticky, which is precisely how Butyl rubber should be and will likely stay somewhat pliable for a long time. This product works better than latex calking as it will not dry out and crack. However, it will not take paint.I'll be using this calking tape to re-seal the windows and roof vents on my RV, as well as seal a new bathroom fan vent I added to my home. I will still have plenty left over after I complete those two tasks. For the price, there is a good quantity of material included.
