They work like the original toilet paper dispenser keys and appear to be made of similar plastic. Will see if they eventually break like the originals but that is why I bought multiple keys.

We lost the key for our paper towel dispensers. I looked up keys from the company that makes our dispensers and the key was $5 but shipping was $18! I came over to Amazon and was able to get 5 keys and free with prime for a much better deal. Now I have backups.
