This wood drill bit has a tungsten-carbide tip, which provides great durability, although its body and shaft are made of steel. In my opinion, I bought it at a good price and it works very well when making precision holes in wood.

Very nicely made. The business end is solid brazed-on carbide, so the full cutting edge and first 6 mm or so of the drill is all carbide. The grind is clean and accurate, with spurs for a chip-free entry point if you exercise a little care at the start of the hole. The body of the drill appears to be HSS but could be tool steel, doesn't matter at all I expect because it's plenty stiff and nicely coated to encourage smooth chip evacuation.The cutter diameter is perhaps .01 mm under, so 4.99, which suits me fine. No drill is going to produce an undersized hole and .01 mm is .0004" (four tenths), so extremely accurate and plenty, plenty good enough for boring wood products.This is the size of drill used for so-called "euro" screws used to hold on European-style cup hinges. It's also the standard size for shelf pins and most other standard accessories in euro-style frameless cabinetry (IKEA style).A carbide bit is really a must for this work because the manufactured wood products (particle-board, MDF, plywood) used for these cabinets is abrasive and will just eat up normal HSS or tool-steel bits. This one will last for many, many holes and is well worth the few dollars investment.This bit is made for dedicated machines that make these holes where frameless cabinets are manufactured, but with a little care will work fine in a drill chuck in a drill press or even a cordless drill. Just make sure the flat on the shank is aligned between two of the jaws otherwise the drill won't run true/concentric.Definitely a thumbs up, would do it again and recommend.

Der Dübelbohrer läuft in Linksrichtung sehr sauber. Er fräst präzise und sauber. Ebenso transportiert er das Holz gut ab. Bleibt lange scharf. Kann ich empfehlen.
