These 5 No 8-32 UNC thread taps are a great addition to my toolbox! They cut through metal easily, and the design makes threading smooth. I’ve used them on a few projects, and they’ve stayed sharp. I’m giving them 4 stars instead of 5 because they’re a little small, but they work really well overall!

Product Reviewed: 5pcs No 8-32 UNC Thread Tap Right Hand for $14TL;DR; Bright finish; Economical; Good grind & clearance; bench review only8-32 is one of those purported challenging taps so I keep a bunch in stock for when my ham fisted behaviour breaks one in touch material.I only did a careful inspection on these without taping holes. I found the finish to be excellent for my hobby purposes. The threads seem to have a high finish I attribute to ground and all the clearance angles and relief looks good. First impression to me is these are superior to most taps you find in combination kits.I broke out the macro lens so hopefully you can see the same.5 Stars – bench review only. Very economical @$2ea.How I review:Reviews start with 5 stars and I subtract points.- 0 for value but I try to provide guidance-0.5 to -3 for product not matching description e.g. stainless steel is actually plated steel-0.5 to -3 for product missing badly on executionI select products carefully so low (1-3 scores) are rare but detailed comments and critiques almost always are in the review. Most of my reviews come out 4-5 range. If possible I dismantle or destroy items to examine inner workings.

I got these to help me remove a broken bolt that I need to get taken out, where my car antenna broke off. These are too small my needs, but I also don’t exactly know what I am doing. I’m confident these are useful if you know what you are doing.

Good for use on mild steel and nonferrous metals. Would not recommend for stainless steel or tool steel. Good for cleaning or retapping existing threads. Reasonably priced.

The taps look good, though they are about a 1/4" in shorter in total tap depth than premium taps as shown in the pic. The lead in portion on the flutes don't look as cleanly finished as a premium tap either. That being said, they look like a decent tap and should work just fine for light duty tapping applications.

These 6-32 UNC taps are reasonable quality (i.e., hardware store or automotive shop) and work well in aluminum and mild steel. They are M2 HSS as opposed to the carbon steel taps that you often see in cheap tap and die sets. This size is the most common size tap I use in my projects. So, for me, this is a good offering.

Wanna put threads in a hole? You need a tap... Perhaps you should consider this product from “LWCUSNJ...†(I have no idea how to pronouce “LWCUSNJ,†though you might get close by stuffing your mouth full of saltines and blowing into a harmonica.)This particular product consists of a set of taps, 6-32 UNC right-hand-thread, straight-fluted, and comprised of high speed steel.Overall fit and finish is commensurate with tooling you can pick up at your local hardware or big-box home-improvement store. These probably don’t qualify as “top shelf†taps, but for cutting threads into mild materials (aluminum, brass, plastics, etc) or chasing existing threads in tougher materials, they should perform well.
