This is a really nifty unit. I've added a couple of pictures which show that it's even cooler than the description. First off it has a nice indicator panel showing the status of each port. Not unusual for a switch but the description really doesn't talk about it and no photos show it, so it was a nice surprise. The other nice thing that is not mentioned in the description at all has to do with power. The jumper cable provided is a *MINI* USB to USB-A curly cord. The unit has a mini-usb jack that the curly cord plugs into for power. Mini USB is pretty rare these days but don't fret! They've ALSO included a *micro* USB power input jack right below the MINI! (see photo) Yep, there are TWO different power jacks - one for micro, one for mini. So if you don't want to use the supplied curly cord and instead want to use a micro USB cable that you'd typically have in your bag anyway you can use it for this unit. Very nice to have this! All in all it's a great little unit with a couple of surprises that make it a really good value. If you do IT support you should definitely have one of these in your bag. Very handy.

07/02/2019: I work as a copier technician and have been using this almost daily for 3 months now. Works perfectly. I pull out my laptop and plug it in and i'm good to go. No need to ask the customer if i can hop on one of their computers to remote into the machine i'm working on. Was a little worried from reading some of the reviews about ports failing, but so far I haven't had any issues with mine. I haven't done any speed tests, but i haven't noticed any slowdowns compared to using a client's computer to remote into a machine, so it works quite well in that regard too.The price is pretty competitive when you consider that a normal ethernet switch is about $16 or so and the market for one that is usb powered must be pretty niche. I am very happy about the price.

I don't have the time to test it out. I need a hub to use wireshark to figuer out what is going wrong with a connection. A switch wont work for this. Most people would prefer a switch. You wont know unless you buy it and figure it out for yourself. Not worth the aggravation.

Worked fine for a few months, then stopped. Kept cycling on and off, dropping the network. Had to replace it with a different brand.

Great little switch! For the same reason as others I wanted a switch I could take with me and not worry about lugging around a bulky power supply. To my surprise this switch is very small. I like that I can use a micro or mini USB cable to power it. It also has leds for each port! I am going to buy another one to take with me to work!

Tiny, easy to use, and has two power ports! Although it isn't Gigabit it's tiny size and minuscule power draw are a huge plus for travelers!

Wanted a simple switch that was USB powered since traveling to India with different plugs/voltages, and needed to hook up different machines in a hotel room. This worked perfectly, ran it off of a USB plug. Absolutely no issues, very straight-forward. Having multiple types of USB power input was a big plus.Note: This is just a switch, would like to be able to buy a version that was a router.

Bought it because it doesn't need a wall power supply. Worked great to connect and program an HMI and PLC system. Plan to velcro it to a power bank so it can be off the usb port when I don't have a spare usb port.

I love the size and that it uses a common available cable, my last one I lost the power cable so it is now useless as the cable was special to the switch. Great switch for a great price!
