I bought a lot of these during the flint michigen scare. I still have a few. These were great to filter out junk from city water but clogged fast due to heavy sedement.

I use these filters to make a homemade tap water filter out of two 2-gallon food grade buckets. Of course I've not lab-tested the cleaned water to verify claims but in blind taste tests, the filtered water was chosen every time. We use it for all our drinking water needs plus it was a fun little project.11-6-18: still going strong. It pulles so much crud out if the tap water that a brown goo will form on the ceramic. About once a month I wash with a scrub brush and keep on using it.

In MY case; tried using these on a knock-off Zen product. They seem to fit, and screw in perfectly, but after time, at random, each one I would come home to find huge puddles of water all over my floor. After a ton of troubleshooting; the filters would just randomly stop letting water through them to the lower tank, which left nowhere else for the 5+ gallons of water in the top tank to go but all over my floor. Shaking them up worked for a short time, most of the time, but eventually they'd fail again, no cracks in tanks, nothing. Authentic Zen filters NEVER had this problem.. Eventually we just bought a real Zen and all problems went away. I wouldn't recommend using these (every one of these filters had the clogging problem, and we purchased 2 sets, all 8 failed) on a Zen, nor a Zen-type water filtration system personally. Use at your own risk...

The directions say to soak it for 3-5 mins before using, but more is needed. I soaked it for a few hours and washed it a few times, but still, I saw some grayish water (maybe charcoal came out?). The actual stuff is different from the picture. After washing it thoroughly, it filters tap water fine, but I will probably buy the one sold by Zen Water next time.

Excellent product, great price and easy to install. I will purchase from this company again.I live in Bogota Colombia South America and the water is not the best. While you can drink the water, it still needs that last bit to make it perfect! This Water Filtration System works perfectly and it is just pour and let gravity do the rest. Normally I will fill it at night when it needs refilling and by the next day, I have several gallons of perfect drinking water!

Our bodies need minerals to help us and that's all I'm allowed to delve into.So..does these rocks provide those misplaced minerals we need? Perhaps so, over time I am measuring the solution of these in water I've put into a dispenser and trace minerals are most definently present in larger amounts.How long will these trace minerals last for from these kits? I am also measuring that as well. The vendor claims 2-3 years so that is how long I will test this for.There are many vendors who make these and their claims have been validated so I have no reason to not trust thus far.Should you? Well sometimes in life you have to take a leap of faith, perhaps this is one of those time.
