Would not recommend due to product surface. While the intention is commendable the reality is a bit different. When this product is installed prior to the start of snow accumulation it can’t be walked on because one can slip and fall or pull a muscle. As oppose to making a safe walkway or the path to your front door the slippery plastic material becomes a liability. This is not the sellers fault.

The larger Matt’s melt the snow but are like walking on ice, they are not slip resistant. You will slip on them. The stair matts are excellent. They are slip resistant. Why would you sell two different types of materials in the same package. The other downside is the stair matts don’t connect to the walkway matts. Unless they can provide a coating for the larger matts, they are too dangerous to use.

The two sets that are sold together and stated connect, do not. Each 3 piece set connects but the two 3 piece sets do not. So you need to use two outlets. Also, nowhere on the computer description of how this set works does it say it can't stay plugged in all the time. That's a problem for me because I spent all this money to have these mats plug in all winter while I'm down South so my decks don't collapse from heavy snow. It says this on the paperwork that came. Also instructions are not easy to understand. I can't rate the quality of the heating and job they do as I just got them.

The stair mats do not connect to larger ones. The description and photo make consumers think that it’s a set. The mats are thin and must be screwed down or they are even more hazardous than the snow or ice.

Works pretty well! On one hand, I want to say it's overpriced, but on the other hand I have looked for things like this before and ones that are built well enough to keep the ground thawed and be stepped on. Usually cost at least this much. While I am slightly annoyed that the entire system does not plug into a single power cable, that actually is probably a benefit sense. You could place these mats in a couple different areas depending on your needs.Today it hit 0° f and while I have not had actual snowfall on these yet, I sprayed a little water on them and it kept it from freezing over. They are actually warmed the touch compared to the surrounding environment.I do appreciate that they kept it simple and don't have additional complexities for this thing to break such as Wi-Fi built into the outlet. I will say that running these all the time is definitely an energy hog though, so you probably do want to put them on a Smart switch, lesst you have to go outside to plug them in and unplug them when you want to use them. It's not the kind of thing I would keep running all the time, only when you have active snowfall or need to thaw out from recent snowfall.I also took a few close up pictures of the connectors which are attached. This is pretty much the same type of weatherproof connection that is used to secure low voltage cabling their like security cameras that are in outdoor areas. It's not the best weatherproofing technique, but it should last well enough. I can tell you it's a much better job at keeping the electrical components insulated from the elements than you would find low voltage lighting for a garden, for example.

Bought the ‘set’ as advertised, however the ‘set does not connect together. These have different connections, for each size of Matt’s.You will need extra extension cords, and will not look neat, or organized
