Product Description

Briidea automatic cable control for roof de-icing cables and gutter heat cables
Temperature Control

Briidea Roof De-icing Cable Controller supports up to 1800 watts of power output, with a panel containing indicator lights, easy to read the status of the equipment, mainly used to automate the control of roof heating/de-icing cable work status. Compared to the heating cable (starting to work below 3°C and shutting down at greater than 10°C) with its own thermostat, the Briidea Controller is triggered to heat up and shut down at a lower temperature (starting to work below 0°C and shutting down at greater than 2°C), saving more money on electricity, and has a humidity sensor requiring water to exist before heating, making it safer and more reliable, is your ideal choice.

I understand that it has to be cold AND the moisture probe has to be wet to turn on power to the plug. The temperature sensor works fine, but the wet probe doesn’t. Doesn’t work if the water is frozen. Does not see to detect snow. No placement in my gutter or on my roof would trigger it. I ended up using a wifi smart plug. Also the screw / mounting holes break really easily.

Like other reviewers have mentioned, the moisture sensor doesn't work. Even when it is below 0C and in liquid water it won't turn on.

I’m going to return this. I installed it following the included instructions but it is not turning the heat cable on. The 0 C and Power indicators light up, but the Water and Working lights do not. There is 2 inches of snow covering the sensor and the temp is 28 degrees. It should be on but it is not. Pretty disappointing.

I tried everything. Including putting the sensor in the freezer and I still could not get it to turn on. I wish I read all the other reviews
