These are simple pull chains at a very reasonable price. They are lightweight and work perfectly on all my shop lights.

The only negative for these fan/light pulls is that they are of a reddish-brown color (see photos), so they will be appropriate only for very specific color schemes (hence the 4 star rating).As other reviewers mentioned, their paint finish is not "perfect", however, the pulls themselves are very smooth and pleasant to grasp. Let's face it, if you have guests over, are they going to spend hours looking at fan/light pulls to notice that their paint finish is not "perfect"? This may be true if your guests are not bored stiff due to lack of good conversation, but then some libation may help squelch the boredom.I have used five of these in the basement - I replaced the white pull strings with these pulls and they look so much better than the original strings Can't beat the price of these pulls.

We have a few light switches with chain pulls in our house that need a much longer chain than normal because of how high they are, and these extensions work great for that. Easy to snap together whatever length you need as the extra wooden pieces can be removed. They are sturdy and have a simple, nice look. It is surprisingly hard to find chain pulls that aren't too gaudy, I recommend giving these a try.

These extender pulls are perfect for reaching ceiling fans. Will work nicely for lamps too because you can easily trim the chain length for shorter distances. Wood handles are nicely finished and will look great in any room or location. Price is unbeatable at less than a dollar each. Will do the job and at this price it is a great product.
