For a first-time router user, I do not want to buy a very expensive one (after pricing them individually it was cheaper to buy this one). I bought it and didn't expect much. But I was really surprised at how functional it turned out.This router is terrific for a beginner like me. Comes with just about everything you need. a lot of accessories, including vacuum attachment, 2 edge guides, and a box of router bits.This router fit the router bits perfectly and is very easy to use and doesn't weigh a ton. It's very lightweight and also is low vibration when using, which is perfect for trimming projects out and making finishing touches!I have one issue is with the bits installing bolt mechanism. I have had small issues with reiterating of tightening the bolts because it really gets loose when I am using it.Other than that this router is definitely worth the price of admission.

I'm no routing expert, but I needed one quick, and I couldn't find my old half-broken Craftsman full-size router. This is the first time I've used a handheld router and I was a bit nervous. I measured my template really carefully and held my breath and cut.It does have a small base like all handhelds, so you need to be mindful of keeping it flat on the surface you're cutting.One potential gotcha that got me. The base has a flat spot on one side where the attachments attach. If you let that flat spot ride up against a template, suddenly, your hole has an area cut 1/16" wider that the rest of the hole. Patch time. Annoying, but not rage-inducing. User error, really.But really, it's a fine budget tool. There appear to be several routers identical to this one on Amazon under various brands.

Otherwise I would have rated 5 stars.Easy fix with an angle grinder but I shouldn't need to grind on a new tool.I bought this to work with a router jig that requires a 65mm barrel on the motor assembly which this has.

Thought the first one was defective but they actually have very little torque, will stop on most jobs.

Excellent value for the money spent.It was almost exactly 1/2 the price of a brand name trim router.I don't care for the edge guild or the bearing guild but they are a nice additionThe router bits that came are surprisingly not as junky as you would expect.The motor seems objectively under powered with the speed control. I rarely use less than full speed but be wary.The collet is a bit jam prone but from what I understand that's a known issue with these routers period. I just tap the bit into the collet and it frees it. I could have spent way less by getting a plastic base as this router was purchased to mount in a slot mortising jig. But the rare time I was to use as a round over router or other small tasks is why I got the metal base.Needs a bigger shoe. But works well enough with no adjustment needed.100% would recommend

I was looking for a compact router to do some finishing trim on my speaker build and this worked perfectly. It as compact and easy to manuver. The variable speed was useful for different material. I like the solid feel it should be accurate and last me a long time. I wouild recommend this unit over cheaper unit, (lower build quality and no variable speed)
