These rock splitting wedges can save so much back breaking time and so easy to use. I would recommend these to anyone trying to do any masonry work. It is very good and sufficient for hobby or household use.
Great rock splitting wedges for splitting stone of any hardness. The rock splitting wedges complement each other perfectly. The bit can last for hours without showing any signs of wear, the spreaders are very tough,and they just keep working great.
Put a little grease between the wedge and the feathers to help the rock splitting wedges slide better and try to get all the rock dust out of the hole before inserting them. The harder the rock, the better these will work.

Extremely easy to use. Split granite rocks, making them manageable in size to move the otherwise unmovable, and allowing the new pieces to be used to build rock walls. Very affordable tool worth having in your toolkit. So far, great performance and durability, so worth the purchase.

It really works! I have a large decorative boulder in my front yard. I've wanted to get rid of it for years but it was too big for a sledge hammer or jackhammer to do any damage. I purchased this wedge and feather set, drilled 5 holes with the included bit and in 15 minutes cracked the rock right in half. I was amazed that it worked that perfectly the first time. I will keep breaking the rocks until the pieces are small enough to move with a dolly. Highly recommend.

First time ever using a set of feather wedges so I don't have anything to compare them to. But they worked as expected. I've used them so far to break apart about 8 or so different rocks and they seem the same as when I first opened the box, not even any real "mushrooming" to where you strike the wedges. I only gave them 4 stars for a couple or reasons, but it's hard to fault them. First, as other reviews have said, the included bit doesn't last very long (ended buying a recommended Bosch bit and it's held up really well). The second is the rubber band that holds all of the pieces together, it seems that after a while this could wear out easily, but I don't see a way of "fixing" that and to be honest , for the price of the wedges, just buy a new set... It will be a long time before that fails.

I read some reviews that these were not up to the task. They fully exceeded all my expectations. Here is how I was successful using these to break up concrete.First, be sure you drill your holes far deeper than these wedges. Use the proper diameter drill bit. For the concrete ranging from 4 inches to 6 inches thick, I did holes 4 to 5 inches apart.Assemble the three metal pieces with the heavy rubber washer. Barely engage the actual wedge. This lets you drop the assembly almost completely into the hole. I also tapped both outer sleeves down as far as they would go, just tapping them.Then, using a single-jack, start tapping in each of the wedges. You will hear it and you will feel it as they bottom out. Just keep working back-and-forth from one to the next. You will quickly see a crack forming from hole to hole.When you drive the wedges down, don’t keep bashing them. If you have reached the rubber washer, it is time to stop.It is critical that you have a gap on the away side of the piece you are breaking off. There must be some place for the waste to move into as you are driving in those wedges. I still had to pry the slabs away. In fact, I used my single-jack to break the slabs apart once they broke off. It made it easier to work them out of their nest.I did use a drop of three-in-one oil on each of the three parts. Just seems to help them not get bound.Like any tool, you must treat them as they are designed to be used, and you must not abuse them. If you try to take shortcuts and use the wrong sized hole, for example, you will definitely have problems. If you try to brute force your way into success, guaranteed you will have problems. If you bash the ever-loving snot out of these, guaranteed you will have problems.Treat them right, and you will have success.

The wedge and feather does not go into the hole. Probably need a larger size drill bit. Why sell in a bundle if the size does not match?

Used this along with a hammer drill to split large rocks and clean up the yard. Works wonders. A tip I learned while splitting rocks. Let them rest in between taps and hit them in order from first to last and you’ll begin to hear cracking. Hard hits aren’t necessary and will only tire you out.

the product works better than the old style one s that i have used. the rubber band keep everything together making them easier to find when they fall into the dirt. One of the rubber rings was broken so i only have 5 usable sets not 6 in one set

When I bought these things, I wasn't sure if this could really work.I have destroyed very large concrete rings with them.It really works and it works amazingly easy.If you search for a possibility to destroy large concrete parts - Buy it!

Ist für den Hobby- oder Hausgebrauch sehr gut und genügend. Achtung auf die Gummis, würde dem Hersteller empfehlen für einen kleinen Aufpreis ein oder zwei Gummis in Reserve mit einzupacken.
