I'm worried the "gold" plating will wear off but it hasn't yet in 9 months. I fix used horns and sell them at cost to beginner parents who have a low budget. I would rather gift a 10 or 20 year old horn to someone than let them buy one of the bad imports if they only have $100-$200 to spend. I prefer to give students a 5C over 7 since I anticipate them to grow into something bigger anyway. The mouthpiece played fine on the repair horn and on a few of mine.I wouldn't use it, but I would recommend having a spare one of these for someone in school or college marching band scenario in place of a good mouthpiece. Assuming all sizes are the same quality as this one.
