I am on a never-ending quest for the perfect ice crusher. I'd like one that is not a machine, doesn't leave your counter all wet, doesn't require putting ice in a fabric bag, and crushes ice spectacularly. I am not sure one exists like this. So, anyways, I tried this muddler. The muddler is fine, but it doesn't really crush a bunch of ice in the way I'd hoped. It is very slender, so lots of ice just flies out of the cup as you attempt to crush it, even if you are using your other hand to try to prevent this. You can't really get a great pounding of the ice to make a nice glass of fine crushed ice. That being said, I get the feeling that most use this to just lightly crush ice and mint leaves, and it will do that.

Solid item and no worries about any plastic ends breaking off. Just be careful when muddling as the weight of this all metal tool can break the bottom of your glass if you work it too aggressively.

I bought this to break up ice squares in my ice machine. It works great for my machine and I bought one for my neighbor and her ice machine. The size is perfect and the weight is just right for breaking up the ice cubes.
