I have purchased the AprilAire brand over the years even with the increasing price. Decided to save some $$$ and try an off-brand. Looks identical in durability and construction. Bought two at half the AprilAire price. So far it’s working just fine.

Bought a 2 pack before I needed them. Went to use the first one and the common was flush with the case. Can't use or return as I am 15 days past the return window. Should have opened the package upon receipt. That sucks

The last canister I received came with a set of instructions.How Hard is it when there is three wires and two hoses?You haven't met me.I am the guy whom can mess anything up without direction (or supervision).Upon google on the humidifier canister replacement and getting the steps to follow, all is well.Canister shell is very well constructed, conductors seem well receiving the wiring connectors.O-Ring replacement was well.Humidifier filled canister and started correctly without leaks.

Tldr: these canisters do not have the best build quality and I would recommend sticking with the name brand.I bought two of these replacement canisters after reading the reviews saying that they were comparable to the real Aprilaire canisters. As another reviewer stated, I found it suspicious that there's a sticker saying it's a genuine replacement canister when in fact the brand is generic. At first, after installation, everything seem to be working well and I thought the canister was comparable to brand name. After 2 months, I noticed the service light come on and when I checked the canister, it was leaking a little. After pulling it out, I found that the black insert separated from the canister and was stuck in the housing on the bottom. When I pulled it out, I noticed that the insert had warped a little. I immediately replaced the canister, but the second canister has one electrode that is smaller than the rest so the electrode wires don't fit snuggly on that one side. The reason the canisters say to replace the electrode wires if they don't fit snugly is because any spacing between the contacts can cause arcing and could end up damaging the system. I know the issue is not my cable because it still fits on the genuine canisters and on the old canister so that means the metal on one of the electrode sides is a different size.

I ordered one from a different supplier and it was junk. I returned it and got the one above which was a good unit.

this product is great. do NOT waste your money buying the original one, i did and it only lasted 1 wk before the service light went on again. bought this product for almost half the price and it works great!

Installed the new canister and electrode wires. Works great and half the cost of the OEM. There is a sticker on it saying it is OEM but it is not.

The canister fits well but both leaked after installed. The leak stopped after a few days. Not sure what the problem was. Now they’re both working well.

Element fried after 2 months. I am a certified plumber and electrician so I can assure you it was installed in my own house correctly and had water in it.Update-cut the bottom off of the canister and found the element had fallen apart and to top it off the malfunction shorted out my control board.
