Converter is the key to easily realize A4988. Just input a pulse at the STEP input terminal to drive the motor for one microstep.

Connecting or disconnecting the stepper motor while the drive is energized will damage the drive.

One thing to notice is that the product has R250 instead of R100, so the equation of vref will be different from most tutorials online (which is a terrible thing).

Solid chip, well laid out PCB. Can mount the heatsink without overlapping any of the SMT components, so that's a plus over the other type of stepsticks out there. I'm very happy getting a pack of 8x for the typical retail price for 1x elsewhere.
