I have some old carriage lights and wanted to recondition them rather than spending a $100 to replace them. They worked fine but the machine screws were really corroded and the lights needed to be repainted. I used the M6 tap to chase the threaded on 20 plus holes and the tap worked like a champ. The lamp is pot metal and it pretty easy to crack. I used the tap with the included tap wrench and was able to recondition the lights.

If you need to add thread to few holes, this is pretty cheap and will work ok. The tap holder is crap, and needs to be adjusted multiple times during the process. Otherwise it does what it is supposed to, just don;t expect too much of it.

Not the greatest set. Handle flimsy and is not well made. Also does not really secures well the taps and once "secured" tap and handle are not at 90 degree angle and the whole thing has a bit of a give.Needed to make two taps in aluminium, nothing too complicated, though completed the task was not too happy about the set. I guess ok (-ish) for the price, and usable but not the best tap set. On the fence as far as recommendation goes.

The taps are accurately sized, and they are sharp. To get 7 of them for under $12 is a bargain. The handle was not accurately drilled and the moving side of the vise was binding on the housing and would not open wide enough to fit the largest two taps. I filed down the inside of the housing with a few strokes from a diamond file and finished with a mill ba$tard and added a drop of oil and now all of the taps fit.I used the 7mm tap on a brass fitting and drilled a 9/64" hole. I oiled the tap and made sure to clear the chips every half turn (full turn in, half turn out) and the threads came out perfectly and fit an M4 screw nicely. This is a great deal for $12, but as might be expected, some adjustments were required.

Arrived earlier than expected. Tested the M3 on a 3mm aluminum and it works. I had to pre-drill using 2mm bit. I believe the other sizes should work as well.
