The belt tensioner tool is designed to aid in the removal and installation of serpentine belts on engines that have spring-loaded idler pulleys. Its thin design and flexible extension allow it to get into areas ratchets and breaker bars cannot,and provides the required leverage and clearance to release the spring pressure and remove the tensioner pulley.
Serpentine Belt Tool is formed of a special alloy steel and features a black oxide finish for additional durability and to resist rust. The tools include three separate sockets (15mm, 16mm, and 18mm),three separate crowfoot wrenches (13mm, 14mm, and 15mm),a 3/8 inch square drives handle of 59cm length and a 1/2 inch square drives adapter of 23cm length, it will work on most cars.

I was helping my dad change an alternator on a Dodge Grand Caravan, in which the belt tensioner is virtually inaccessible using regular tools. I don't do a ton of automotive work, but I am usually able to get to belt tensioners with normal tools. Anyway, with no other options, we purchased this item and it worked wonderfully. The old adage about having the right tool for the job definitely applied to this device! It has a thin bar, allowing you to get into tight places, and the additional bar for leverage makes it possible to release the tension with little effort. It also comes with multiple attachments to ensure it fits most any application. I highly recommend this product.

I used it to remove the service belt on a Honda. With this tool is very easy to remove.

This is horrible, do not buy this tool. First off it did not come with the half inch attachment and secondly it did not come with the crow foot attachments. Went to use it on my belt, the socket holder twisted off on the first try without using full force.

This tool is for one job only, and that is to take the tension off of the serpentine belt of a vehicle that has a tensioning pulley. It does that job.
