Researching bannetons to make my first ever, homemade sourdough bread, I am grateful to have found these bannetons in particular. Natural, environmentally conscious packaging to the quality of the “prize†inside, was well worth the higher pricepoint. No fuss clean up with the cotton liners. Although, I’d prefer a muslin or linen type liner, the cotton stretched well to line the bannetons for my precious sourdough to proof happily. Try theses bannetons and they will be a part pf your bread making tradition! Well done.

I've used this 3 times in the first week. Works great. A little flour is all that is needed . Very thick material. I make a lot of ~400gram of flour loaves and this is fine. You could get a 500g loaf in there as well.

This banneton arrived well packaged and secure but without excessive packaging. It comes with a banneton for bread proofing, clear instructions, and a cloth cover that wraps over the banneton. I don’t use the cloth cover, though it’s a nice gesture. With a light dusting of floor the dough does not stick to the banneton and the loaf comes out easily. Per the instructions, we do not wash it. We simply let it dry in the oven while warm, brush it out thoroughly, and store it in a dry and cool cupboard between uses. This is a cupboard we use often so it gets plenty of air.I’ve only used the banneton a couple of times so far so I can only speculate on long term durability but I don’t see any signs of wear yet and it appears to be quite rugged. It’s just the right size for us but if you bake a lot of large loaves for the family you may need more than one.We are pleased with the quality and ease of use.

recently purchased the 9" Round Wood Pulp Banneton Bread Proofing Basket, and overall, I’m really happy with its performance. The grooved pattern left a lovely impression on my sourdough, giving it that rustic, professional look. The basket is made from natural wood pulp, which seems durable and sturdy, and the non-stick surface helps to prevent the dough from sticking during the proofing process. The size is perfect for most home baking, but I do wish it were just a bit larger—perhaps a 10" or 11" option would be ideal for those of us who bake larger loaves. Despite this, it comfortably holds up to 1.5 pounds of dough, making it suitable for smaller to medium-sized batches. What I really appreciate is the fact that it’s made in Germany, where craftsmanship and attention to detail are evident. The quality of the material gives me confidence that this basket will last through many bakes. It's easy to clean, though I make sure to let it air dry completely between uses.In conclusion, it's a great bread proofing basket that helps create beautiful loaves, but I’d recommend considering its size if you typically bake larger quantities of dough.

I’ve been getting into sourdough baking, and this wood pulp proofing basket has been a game changer! It helps my dough hold its shape, absorbs moisture for a better crust, and leaves a beautiful rustic pattern on my loaves. It’s lightweight but sturdy, and I love that it dries quickly after use. The included liner is nice, but I prefer using it without for more defined grooves. Just make sure to flour it well to prevent sticking! If you’re serious about making better sourdough at home, this is totally worth it.

I expected something more advanced than a typical Banneton bowl, especially for $40+ and being made in Germany. However, it's essentially made of thick cardboard, similar to papier-mâché or heavy packaging material. I tried using it multiple times, even with generous amounts of flour, but the dough still stuck to the basket. In the end, it broke while I was trying to pry the dough out.
