I used the good ole Surecom to test this antenna with all my radios. TD-H3/H8’s, UV-5R, GMRS-Pro, UV-8Pro, 888S, 20V2.Every test this antenna came back at or under 1.1SWR.To give it a good test, I set my GMRS-Pro up as a simplex repeater, popped on the antenna, set it on my roof, and went for a drive. I did have dead spots as I am in a slightly hilly area, but I got usable response in the 5-10 mile range. My car was running the 20v2, channel 16, with a Midland MXTA26 antenna.

Got this to see how much better I can pick up the local repeaters inside my house and it works way better then stock and the Nagoya antenna I have definitely an improvement and upgrade I use it with the uv5r and the fp8 it’s really long so be careful you don’t let it fall over but it is durableI had to trim a little off the bottom of the antenna plastic near the connection to fit the fp8 but it doesn’t hinder the operation of it at allWould recommend this this to pull in the distant signals if your far from repeaters.

Really can't go wrong with ABBREE antenna. I've got the two shorter folding antenna for our vest GMRS radios. And now these two monster antennas for our tactical radios. They all seem to be well made and despite folding, I've never had an issue. Reception/transmission is quite good. We are in the Sauk Valley, northwest Illinois and can receive and transmit quite well through the trees and buildings tested to over two miles outside the valley. I call this excellent for our needs. Highly recommended. P S. I should say that this antenna isn't really meant to be fully deployed all the time. I carry my radio antenna combo twice folded until I need to contact someone.

The stock antenna on my Gm-15 pro is working better than this one which has now quit working so I assume it's broken inside I have only used it maybe 6 times fully unfolding it.

i added these antennas to not only my Baofeng radios, but also my Wouxun GMRS. They have significantly increased the range and sensitivity of my handhelds. They may be a little unwieldy because of their size, but having them available for those times when the stock antenna just doesn't get out there is a real plus.

Always use the right antenna for the job. UV-5R comes with "ham" band antennas which *suck* at pulling in GMRS/WX bands. This antenna is literally made for GMRS/WX bands. It works better extended (unfolded) than when folded. It can be used folded as long as no electrical components touch (leave a little gap), but range will be reduced... so Whip it! Whip it good!

People will definitely wonder what is going on if you pull out your HT and this antenna is attached. I can assure you of that.In terms of range increase, this antenna definitely allows me to make some contacts that otherwise would not have been possible with the stock antenna, I found that it actually works best for me slightly folded funnily enough.In comparison to a Nagoya NA-771 which I bought while in Japan, I would say that it is slightly better in some cases and slightly worse in others. So I do value having both at my disposal.Overall, I would purchase this antenna again.

Brilliant Aerial for my Quansheng UV-K6 and Tid Radio H8. Greatly improved my distance in receiving and transmission. Very well built. Functionality is great. It's definitely value for money. Great fitting aerial. I'm pleased I brought two of these. They did take a while to arrive because they are from a US seller. But they are definitely worth the wait. They did arrive earlier than it said when I placed my order. It said they would arrive by the 3rd of December. They arrived on 26th of November which was a bonus. I definitely recommend this aerial. You can use it full length of folded over.
