First, let me say that the price point on this 500 CFM unit is really good. The less expensive 400 CFM units are too small for my application and the ones that move 650-1100 CFM are a bit too big, heavy, and pricey. This unit has a bit more oomph at the same price point as the smaller ones...and still comes with a handle.I mentioned "Second Time" in the title: The first unit I got had clearly been dropped - must have been quite a fall considering how well packaged these units are. The fan was wobbly and the back housing had a bit of a "hammered" effect...and NOT like that paint. I also thought that the hardware and remote were missing, but now not so sure: Initially, this second unit also appeared to be missing the remote...until the primary filter fell out as I was unpacking...and there were the remote and hardware pack inside the bag filter.HINT: THE REMOTE AND HARDWARE ARE PACKED INSIDE THE UNIT BETWEEN THE FILTERS. (I could not find this info anywhere on the product page or in the manual...)Anyway, return/replace by way of Amazon returns process went just like it usually does - went off without a hitch. The second unit is immaculate - no issues with dents, fan, or remote. The functions on the controller are the same as all the others - power-speed-timer - plus an unexpected PPM sensor and function that allows you to set a particulates threshold for the unit coming on (and turning off? IDK, haven't gotten that far yet...)I'm building a house and getting ready to finish out the interior (installing all the wood trim, fixing wonky plaster, laying some of the flooring, tile, etc.) and I don't really want to unnecessarily subject my new HVAC system to a bunch of plaster, mortar, and sawdust. This thing is EXACTLY what I need to collect as much of the stray dust missed by the vacuum hose right there at the source, instead of it filling up the return air filters. Afterward, it will go in my 13 x 27 x 12' H shop, where the 500 CFM speed gets me in the 7 changes per hour sweet spot.Could not be happier with my choice!

Considering the other available options, this was a very good value. While I have a large dust collector in my shop (AKA garage), some activities still generate a good amount of airborne dust and this unit has been the answer. At its max speed it claims to pull 500 CFM and that will filter all the air in my shop every 8 minutes, which seems to be sufficient. It was easy to mount, particularly as they provide all the hardware - hooks, chains, etc. and the unit is pretty lightweight. Fires right up when the air gets too dusty and seems to be doing a great job!
