I used this to suction up the dust while coring a 2 inch hole through a cinder block wall with brick on the outside. The boring process involved driling a 1/2" pilot hole first and then using the 1/2" bit as a guide for a coring bit. I had my doubts about whether or not the attachment would adhere to a painted cinder block wall but it did. In my situation I had to hang the attachment from a hose running down to it rather than up but it seemed to have a good grip. If a person were working high on a wall with a heavy hose weighing it down he might have to support the hose. I used a standard ShopVac for suction power.I think on any smaller diameter holes a person would have no issues and it would suction the dust very well. Also, I think it would no doubt have a stronger bond on a drywall surface than cinder block but I'm not sure how well it would be able to maintain suction with a larger bit as there appears to be more 'leakage' after removing the interior seal to accomodate larger bits. I have not been able to try that as yet. The 2" hole I bored was with a wet coring bit and this attachment is not suitable for or designed for wet work. It does clean up nicely with a garden hose too.

High quality heavy wall plastic. The gasket are heavy duty as well. Not cheap foam

What it is: Blue and black plastic and rubber drill dust collection attachment for a vacuum. Features brush opening (removable for large holes), 70mm drill/drill saw capacity, rubber gaskets, swivel vacuum head, rubber hose adapter, instructions. Why I like it: This is designed for masonry, brick, drywall, and concrete core and hammer drilling. It will clog if used for wood drilling, as the shavings are too large. The vacuum base does hold the unit to the wall really well (shop vac and battery powered vacuum compatible). It contains the dust and debris as designed. The only issue I had is that it doesn’t work with all common vacuum hoses—you may need to find a compatible adapter or modify the included one. It’s also on the larger side, so it may not work in all instances. Overall, it is an excellent addition to your tool kit!

I used this for the first time the other day drilling a hole in sheetrock and I left no mess. Using it in combination with my 20 Volt DeWalt shop vac it suctioned to the wall and collected all of the dust. The brush bristles clean the drill bit and keep anything from falling out I love this tool.

I have only used it on a wood surface so far but it works. The suction holds it in place like it's supposed to. I have different vacuums that I hook up to tools like my chopsaw or sanders. The same cuff on the end of my hoses fit this without an adapter. It does come with one though. All my vacuums run in the 145-150 cfm range. It's worked great for me.
