I wanted this for my electric die grinder, that is not variable speed, to do some cylinder head porting. It worked perfect. I can't wait to see how many other uses I can come up with for it.

I'll be the first to review since this a new product. I was looking for a device to control the speed of an over sized, loud ventilation fan, I needed a device to properly attenuate an induction type motor, rather than a type with a commutator and brushes. I was reluctant to buy this because it was cheap but as soon as I opened it I knew it was going to be good. I works great!! Built WELL, No hum, buzzing, just smooth attenuation. I will order another just to have on hand. My only gripe is that it doesn't seem to have a UL or ETL certification so use at your own risk but so far its been great.

Out of the box the unit gave off a loud hum when the dial was in the 3 o'clock position through 6 o'clock. There is an erratic delay when attempting to increase or decrease voltage. Voltage fluxuates when the unit is under ANY load.

Works even better than expected. Got it to regulate rpms on fan but it turned out great for testing LEDs and lowering rpms on power tools

I really don’t agree with it if I want to use it on a motor. It seems that there are only one adjustment among the three, because the speeds are all the same.
