I originally bought it to help figure out where water was pooling in the ceiling due to a leaky roof. Useful for knowing where to punch a hole and drain and to check that the roof repair was successful.I've also used it to get a sense of where pipes are in the house to inform where to put leak detectors. Opened my eyes to how bad the drafts were around some doors and motivated me to add some foam strips. Also useful for locating devices that consume significant power while "sleeping", checking that heating cable is not getting dangerously hot, and so on.I'd like to see an improvement in how visual and IR images are combined. Currently seems low contrast, like it makes each layer half intensity and adds them together. Some edge enhancement on the layers and maybe a 75 IR / 25 visual split would make it easier to see what's going on.For the 256x192 resolution, it's a good value! Goes on sale from time to time, where it's definitely worth succumbing to as an impulse buy!

I have used FLIR cameras in the past that cost thousand or more. This camera will do what you need around the house. I fix lawnmowers and I used it to see if both cylinders have the same heat signature. This was I can see if a cylinder is lean or rich or have a weak spark. Don’t buy the cheaper one with half the resolution. This one works but any less resolution you would not be happy. Works great on electrical panels as well

I found that the Google Play store app called TC001 TopDon works great with this camera. I didn't really want to side load something sketchy. Can pick different rainbow or gray visualizations. The camera is small and light enough that it stays snapped into the USB C socket while walking around with it on the phone. It has an aluminum case and really seems like a quality build. You will see things in a whole new way, believe me. Wonder if your dog was on the couch before you got home? Now you'll know. See what parked cars have been running within that last few hours. Sasquatch, paranormal spirits, you name it, you may see more than you want to ha. Only downside for me and it is a big one is that it doesn't seem to use the UVC 1.0 spec and none of the Android USB security camera apps will work for it. The ShenYao China USB Camera Pro app DOES work however, and can convert it to an IP stream, has motion detection and can Email/FTP videos if you have the patience to figure it all out. (I did get the Motion detect/FTP to work to a local server.) If you are converting to a stream, use on a local network only and BE SURE to disable UPNP in both the App and your router, otherwise hundreds of people will hack your camera from all over the world. Not ideal. Otherwise if you just want an affordable camera to analyze heat signatures this really works well. For the few extra bucks you'll want to get this higher resolution version. The dog pic is a Black Lab! Not so black now. The split screen is the USB camera app set to the higher res, it does two modes somehow. The view of basement is with zero light, complete darkness.

This was for my wife - a bee keeper. This did exactly what she wanted it to do: show her the temp of the bees balled up in their hive during the winter. Other people say a lot about other brands and maybe one shortcoming or another, but it did just what she wanted - glad we didn't spend more.

I have had this unit for about 10 months. Have been really happy with the features & resolution having used it sporadically. Had an issue when new with the charging cable to transfer data & manufacturer asked that I order a replacement elsewhere & reimbursed via credit. Recently having trouble with unit time & date stamp. Contacted seller via Amazon. Took a few messages, some with significant delays in them responding. I would not say they are unresponsive. In the end the 18-month worry free warranty offered at time of purchase turns out not to be worth much since they don't have parts on hand and are saying to send it at my cost & they are expecting a 1-2 month repair time before sending it back. Say they can not exchange since this model is discontinued, although "new" model appears to have identical features & looks.

Great for the price. Good accuracy. Sometimes the software slows down and it lags, but not enough to really stop it being usable. Didn't have the same lag from Flir brand but this is significantly less money when I bought it.

Thought it would give better resolution. It was too much to ask for such low price. However, it does do a pretty decent job of giving you a visual indication of hot and cold areas. Not a professional that will use a thermal camera daily? Get this instead. It is cheap enough that you can just toss it around.

L'appareil ne lit pas l'humidité comme d'autres appareils le font. Il semble solide bien construit, mais n'accomplit pas la tâche pour laquelle il avait été acheté. Il ne se trouve à faire que la moitié du travail auquel il était destiné.
