  • Dual solar panels maximize sun exposure and allows internal aspirating fan to run more frequently
  • Improves ambient temperature measurement throughout all hours of the day

  • This upgrade should be used on 5-in-1 sensors that come with only one solar panel

The Dual Solar Panel Pro 5-in-1 Upgrade is a replacement assembly with enhanced features for the AcuRite 5-in-1 weather sensor (sold separately). The upgrade optimizes the measurement of the temperature throughout all hours of the day. The assembly includes dual solar panels to maximize the sensor's exposure to the sun and to allow the sensor's solar-powered aspirating fan to run more often. The sensor's internal fan helps internal airflow to ensure accurate ambient temperature readings. The assembly is easy to install with basic tools. Includes pro weather sensor assembly and installation guide. Works with AcuRite models: 00502, 502RX, 01010W, 1010RX, 01015, 1015RX, 01022M, 01025, 1025RX, 01035, 1035RX, 01036, 1036RX, 01050, 01055, 1055RX, 01078, 01092, 01092DIA1, 01500, 1500RX, 01502, 1502RX, 01506, 01512, 01514, 01515, 01524, 1524RX, 01525, 1525RX, 01533, 01531, 01534, 01602BPDI, 1602RX, 02032C, 02064, 02080M, 06006RM, 06007RM, 06016RM, 06017RM. Works great. Takes a lot of beating and still works good. Highly recommend!

My station has been humming along outside in total sunlight for about 3-1/2 years. I took it off the post, removed four screws and opened it up. It had a heavy cake of dirt and grime going on but remarkably no spiders or wasps. I cleaned it up then removed four screws for the top module. The new one fit perfectly and I got it all put back together in minutes. I have wondered how long the spindle or bearings in the anemometer would last so this solved that worry. The temperature readings used to run a little hotter than our TV weather reports, but now they are just slightly cooler than the TV which is what it should be. We are out in the country a little bit, away from big buildings and concrete. If you aren't particularly handy at taking things apart don't worry. As long as you can use a Phillips screwdriver you'll be fine. I've got hand tremors from a spinal injury but I had no problem. One of the screws has to go into a hole that's deep down inside. I worried about that but they cleverly designed the product so that the opening looks like a funnel. The screw can't go the wrong place or get lost. I highly recommend this upgrade for your station.

This works great! Very easy to swap out with the old one. I gave it a 5 star cause it seems to work fine and as described. But my actual AcuRite 5 in 1 outdoor sensor unit has never worked right. I was hoping this would help. I have watched all their videos, spent hours calibrating it over the last year and half. and yet I just cant get it to read rain correctly. From day one right out of the box it was reading rain at about 60% more than actual, I think now im like at 25% more, but 3 months ago when I messed with it I was reading 30% less than actual. Oh and it just randomly chooses when to end the rain total for the day. I thought it was at 12AM, but sometimes it resets during a storm in the middle of the day, sometimes I see the over night rain total then at 9 am its at 0.0 I had a 3-1 for years and it worked great, I was so looking forward to this one and its been a flop. So, While this upgrade works great, if you get your 5-1 sensor and its not working correctly, dont do what I did and wait around, call them or take it back and get one that works.

Works great, helps with the early morning and late evening sun with the dual solar panels. Wow has the price gone up from $36 to $54 but you can still get it from the manufacturer for $36. You might as well buy a whole new outdoor sensor and replace the whole thing. I have three 5 in 1 aka: Iris Acurite weather stations running, one for over 10 years with a little TLC.Update 06/21/24 they have raised the price yet again to $103 on here and it's still $36 direct from Acurite, what in the world is the deal with this?

My sensor was getting old. The fan was noisy as was the anemometer. Rather than paying for a new 5 in 1 I was able to refurbish my existing system. The included instructions are excellent with many photos. Nice job Acurite.

Be cautious about this if you are in the Southern Hemisphere. The original Acurite 5-in-1 system sold in Australia was corrected for installation in the Southern hemisphere (has to be for the solar panel to be pointed North to work properly but still have the wind directions correct). Despite Acurite telling me this upgrade was right for my 5-in-1 knowing I was in Australia, if I install it the way that's marked on the case, the solar panels will be facing SE and SW (i.e. pretty much directly away from the sun), and probably will barely work. It's possible they have corrected the ones marketed in Australia, but without documenting the change. But if not, if I install it so the panels will work (i.e. with the panels facing NE and NW), all wind directions will be 180 degrees wrong. There don't seem to be any previous reviews about this issue, maybe I'm the first in the Southern hemisphere to buy it. Whatever, the issue needs to be at least documented. Will update if possible if I get a positive outcome.Further thinking: since the upgrade doesn't affect the wind _direction_ sensor, it probably means the module is OK so long as you ignore the prominent 'South' label on the upgrade and point it North anyway (i.e. in the direction your AcuRite was previously pointing). Waiting for confirmation that this is correct. So probably OK, but they should definitely be incorporating some additional documentation for upgrades shipped to the Southern Hemisphere.

My AcuRite is really old, at least 8 years possibly older. Years of being in the elements (at first 25' up my antenna tower, now 22 stories up on my balcony railing) has worn down parts but I can always order a new piece instead of having to replace the whole unit. The wind cups literally blew off one winter storm and were quickly replaced but the bushings were squeaking and I couldn't get them quiet. Since we're in an apartment now, I didn't want the noise to disturb neighbours so bought this replacement which includes the improved solar panel. It was a quick swap out, works fine with our base station display. Recorded sustained 50 mph winds the other night. Living in an apartment it is great to have the weather at a glance because if we leave without the proper clothing, it is a long trip back up to change.Acurite has kept improving their product while keeping the new parts backwards compatible with my station. That reduces landfill waste and makes the product better value since it can be repaired instead of replaced.

Needed a replacement and this new upgraded one is fantastic. Has a hole on the side with a screw in it, Take out the screw and spray in some oil and the bearings are oiled. Easy Peasy
