I bike to work on days that isn't too cold nor rainy. So I wanted a device next to my bed when I wake up and quickly check the temp and weather condition. I was going to get the simple device with just the outdoor thermometer. Well this on eis on sale for the same price and had a wind measuring device so that was better. ALso this model has a better screen then the simplier one.Goods:+ great for the price I got it at. Also I got another one as a Christmas present.+ seem to be well built well, even the wind outdoor therometer was built pretty good.+ setup was easy and it sync instantly. I have mine on the 3rd floor and it is outside in my back yard so the range is fine.+ outdoor temp is on pair with accurate weather website I checked the city I live in, exact number. Indoor I think it might be 2 degrees higher compared to my house thermometer.+ screen looks nice, but it is just led on a color background that doesn't change.+ good dimming mode. It dim the led brightness per the time range (you can read the manual for that). It doens't have a light sensor, which I thought per term auto dim, but I did read the manual and it is time range).Issues:- Outdoor wind speed is very low if you place it low to the ground. You need to place it as high as you can.- led viewing angle, you need to be above it to see it. My is placed above me when I sleep so I can't read it when laying down.pending:currently it is still learning (they say 14 days), but I see it is producing some graphic of what is happening. I will see how accurate this gets.Overall for the price it is a great product. The wind speed is low as I don't have a higher mount to place it on. Also I didn't install the backup battery, don't care if it lose data of last month. But you do need 4 AA batteries for the wind outdoor thermometer.

This is my second one and I had replaced the wind cups once on my old one but 50mph winds knocked it off the roof. Lasted a few years so a good investment instead of spending tons on the one without cups at all. I like the larger display on this one that is older folks can see(my old one was smaller black and white display)

I have had this weather station for five years & used it for only the winter season. It works well and records what the weather has been. The problem with this unit is that it will not work with snow. During snow the wind cups/ top of unit collect the snow & the wind speed will not function so all I get is humidity (snow) & temperature. I have to continually brush the snow off for it to pick up wind speed. I don’t recommend this unit in an area with snow. The monitor no longer works.

Trouble getting parts. I had it 15 feet above my roof, ziptied the pole it was on to my house and one very windy night the pole and all crashed down. I tried to replace the wind device that spins around and could not. I was able to purchase the cuppy thing for a differant model, glued it on with E6000 glue.I'm not sure it'll work, have to see tomorrow. Also temperature guage kept saying 44°. I put in 4 new $26.00 Lithium batteries for the outside unit. It gets cold here in Oregon, USA. Now the temperature guage works but not the wind, yet.I'm good with jerry-rigging.We still have DST here so I gave up trying to correct the clock. I use another bigger clock.Very easy to set up, I was younger then.I need to set it back on the pvc pole, this time with more 1/4" zipties. The photo shows 36°, finally correct. 69° is correct for indoor temperature.Again, be sure to use Lithium AA batteries for the outside unit if your area gets cold.

This is a nice unit and I am very happy with it. I followed the instructions exactly, and mounted it on the side of my house about 12 feet in the air. I was receiving some interference for the first week and was receiving inaccurate readings, and I was also playing with the unit controls for the first week. I changed the base unit and the outdoor unit to channel C and reset both of them to factory defaults, and did not play with or touch any of the base unit controls. It's now been about two months since I purchased it and the accuracy is within one degree two other instruments that I checked it with. The weather forecast function really does work accurately,...!! The little picture icons in the weather forecaster are really cool and give you a good idea of what to expect in the next 12 to 24 hours, But not till after the 33 days it requires to take all four thousand readings. If you set it up correctly and don't play with it it will give you accurate and reliable information and forecasting.

This works great... Bought it 5 years ago and still no problems. I run the main unit on the DC power plug. The sensor is on top of a pergola and I put lithium batteries in it and *still* haven't had to change them... been running on the same batteries for 5 years. The only thing that doesn't seem super accurate is the wind speed. It measures about half of what it really is, but, it could be because It's not super high in the air.Updated 2024:It finally died. 9 years of reliable service. I bought this for about $80 nine years ago, so it was well worth the money for what I ended up getting. In the 9 years I never had to change the batteries once on the outside unit. The energizer lithium batteries I originally bought lasted all this time. Unfortunately, I am going to get a different unit now. I have no idea why they basically doubled the price since I first bought it. I get it: the economy, but there are no new features. Better options out there for cheaper.

This product works really well. The display is very easy to read. The part you mount outside is on top of my clothesline so it gets good wind readings( not to easy to see in my picture). I wish it told the wind direction as well. It was easy to install but you do need somewhere that is not sheltered from the wind.

I’ve had one of these for 5 years.Recently the transmitter failed to communicate. Other reviewers have experienced this problem as well.Rather than just order a new transmitter I decided to get the transmitter and receiver set which was on sale at the time. Now I have the old and new displays working off the same TX. One upstairs one down.Accurate, easy to read, simple to set up.The display however does have a narrow vertical viewing angle. From same level and above it’s great. If you place the display higher the view from below is faded. Horizontal is fairly wide. The TX lifespan looks suspect but a good unit otherwise.

Works same as old one but numbers seem to be a bit dimmer .

The indoor and outdoor readings are WRONG. I have confirmed this. This thing was the biggest rip off for the price and non refundable. I’m literally throwing out $165 into the garbage.
