  • This conductive material (also known as "Velostat" or "Linqstat") is a nice addition for your wearable/sensor hacking toolkit. It's pressure-sensitive: squeezing it will reduce the resistance, so it's handy for making flexible sensors. And it's a lot less expensive than off-the-shelf pressure or bend sensors too! Each order comes with a 11"x11" (28cm x 28cm) 4mil (0.1mm) thick piece. We may fold the sheet into quarters to ship it to you. To remove any hard creases, simply lay flat on a table and

This is a nice, thin conductive sheet that I used to replace the sensors under the panels on my Dance Dance Revolution pad. I didn't know if it would work, but it worked perfectly. I just stretched the material, one sheet covers all 4 panels, and it doesn't wear down like the aluminum tape that came with the pad. Hopefully it lasts at least a year (or more?:-)) under heavy foot stomping; so far so good.

Cuts easy and doesn’t make a mess, it worked for my pressure switch

I used this material to make a force resistance sensor with the Velostat being the variable resistive material. It worked well, but when i pressed hard on the material, the voltage levels I received were much different. This is good for basic prototyping, but I don't think it would work on any large scale application - at least not consistently.

I have this product from Adafruit directly, and it's pretty cool as a component of a DIY impact sensor (ball target, etc).Currently you can get this much much cheaper from Adafruit directly (the current Amazon seller doubles the price once they add shipping, when this stuff can just be folded into an envelope with thin cardboard and mailed for less than a buck).

Arrived wrinkled in fixable if it’s wrinkled. If you try to make flex sensors or anything it will not work the wrinkles destroy the velvostat and make it unusable...
