Got the item as a gift and it came in such poor packaging… no box no designs just a ziplock bag with a bunch a yarn thrown in. To give as a gift was embarrassing. Then to make matters worse when we tried to follow the instructions they were not clear and easy to follow for a beginner at all. No real step by step clear instructions. I would not buy again.

If they hadn’t said this was cotton yarn I’d give this kit 5 stars. It’s got everything you need to crochet the blanket, even snips and a retractable tape measure. The instructions are… mostly okay I think? The yarn isn’t terrible if you don’t need it to be cotton. It’s basically one of the two kinds that tends to get sent out in amigurumi kits. (Not the woven one, the other one). That made me immediately suspicious so I snipped off a short bit, grabbed a match, went outside and tried a burn test. It melted. Cotton does not melt.To be fair, there could presumably be some amount of cotton in it, or they could be using cotton to describe the fluffiness of the yarn rather than to describe the content of the fiber. Regardless, if you want pure cotton yarn this is not it. The yarn I have that feels exactly the same is acrylic so I feel safe assuming this is acrylic too.

Yarn Difficult to work with. It split a lot. Other than that it is an ok kit

NICE blanket kit. regular type yarn, not that t-shirt stuff that is getting so common. Instructions and a handy zip loc bag, I am changing out a couple of the colors for yarn of my preference colors and using the included yarn in something else. This will be fun.

I'm not normally a purple yarn type of guy, but I love the pattern that is included for this crochet blanket, and it comes with pretty much everything you need to get started, if you don't already have the supplies. It even comes with a tape measure. I thought that was a nice bonus. Highly recommended to those who are interested.

This is NOT a beginners kit. If you have never crocheted before you are very likely to struggle. The instructions in the booklet are not clear, the photos are small and using multicoloured wool as a way of illustrating steps isn't helpful at all. However, if you have crochet skills (and access to excellent videos on YouTube) you will probably be OK.I was disappointed by the quality of the bag it comes in (zip at the top broket after a couple of uses), the additional tools are cheap and nasty (no idea why a plastic tape measure is included).Just not what I had hoped for.

I am really impressed with the kit as it has everything - yarn, 2 x hooks (4mm and 4.5mm), scissors, sewing needles, tape measure and book of instructions.The cotton yarn does split so I would not recommend it for beginners. The booklet is good but doesn't mention what size hook to use.I used the 4mm and it took a while to actually understand the blanket instructions. I made a few mistakes on this first square and I am an experienced crocheter with 60+ years experience.The instructions are all in US terms but a UK comparison is given.Overall I think this is excellent value for money and I love the design. Recommended for experienced crocheters who would like a stand-alone project or as a gift for an experienced crocheter.
