I bought this as a gift for a musician friend and he loved it. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing and settled on this piece because I am familiar with the company. I love that the Africa Heartwood Project gives back to the community and I want to support local artists and creatives who make the instruments.A couple of people spoke about the short "rain" time of this instrument, but I believe that they don't really know how to use a rainstick. I suggest going to the Heart of Africa Project website and browsing through their how-to videos. There is a technique to using a rainstick and when employed this instrument has a long and beautiful sounding rain! In fact, before I wrapped it I used it and my daughter who was in the other room called out "Is it raining??" I kid you not!! This really happened! I highly recommend this instrument.

My parents had purchased a large rain stick years ago when they were vacationing in Colorado. My daughter always wanted one so this year I decided to buy her one. The one I purchased on Amazon did not disappoint. It was beautiful, sounds as tranquil as my parents rain stick. It also came very well packaged.

The length is the minimum for me. Anything shorter would have been ridiculous. The decoration is nothing to write home about (I can always change it). but that was not the motivation for the purchase. The sound is perfect and is more rain-like from one end than the other, but that's to be expected. The length allows a reasonably nice, long, sound sensation. I like the materials. It works.

I have used a few of these in the past. The sound is great and the quality is good. Only issue I had was it was cracked during shipping. You can see there is not any clear coat covering the crack, which makes me think it was during shipping. I left feed several weeks ago but no one has responed.

Beautiful natural cactus rainstick with a very long "rain" when tipped. beautiful sound. Will never have to order again, but if I did, I would.
