Sturdy and does the job. Great customer support--was missing parts but quickly resolved with no issues by customer support. I also look for a good deal and this was the best deal going for what I wanted. Spreaders are never cheap, so I like the price and value on this one and would buy AgriFab products again.

Price was right, assembly wasn't awful, though the it was clear from the get go that the feeder control was WEAK. What was not obvious was how bad the gearbox was. The drive from my garage to my field is three minutes tops, though it is a bit bumpy (the field is bumpier, it's a field after all). Before I actually got to the field the gearbox housing fell off.Sadly, I did not notice that since I was struggling to open the bottom feeder to allow seeds out. The ad claims this thing will work with 85 lbs of material. That may be true if the feed port is opened before putting material in the hopper, but I had about 2 lbs seeds (just a bit from a 5lb bag) mixed with about 10 lbs of sand. The feed control would not open the port. I fussed with it until seeds could come out and took off rolling. Sadly, without the gearbox housing, the gears didn't touch and the spreader didn't spread anything. Realizing there was a problem, I hand sowed the seeds around my plot then dragged the damn thing back to the garage. On the way back I found he housing. After bit more fussing around with the damned thing, I got the weak (OMG WEAK) housing reattached and was able to demonstrate that the spreader would spin. Sadly, that was while the hopper was EMPTY. Once a bit more seed and a bit more sand was in the hopper the gear just ground and the spreader didn't spin. Once again, I hand sowed the seeds and sand.In a last ditch bout of optimism, I put the remainder of the 5lb bag of seeds in the hopper, without sand, and tried it again. The damned thing couldn't even work with that little weight.Buying this thing was a mistake.

It's decent for the price. If you are looking to use it every day it probably won't last

First was damage, 2nd almost damage on the same place and missing parts. Product works well, but is very poorly package. All parts are thrown in.We recomend it because it works good with my ride lawn mower. Just be patient with installation and instructions.

This spreader was $120 and has a lot plastic parts. I recommend this spreader for yards between a half an acre to 1 acre. Yards smaller than a half an acre get a push spreader, for yards larger 1 acre spend $300 or more to get a better quality spreader. The assembly was tedious. The controller was not shipped with spreader. I called Agri-Fab and they shipped me the missing part. I have zero turn mower and accessing the controller is difficult due to the distance between the controller on the spreader and the seating position on the zero turn. I only use a spreader about 3 to 4 times a year so I think this inexpensive spreader should last a long time. For reference I used a Scott's drop push spreader before I purchased this spreader. The Scott's spreader finally gave out after 7 years. The Scott's spreader also had a lot of plastic parts like this spreader. Now I don't have push the spreader around the yard and tow the spreader behind my zero mower but there are a couple areas in my yard where this spreader won't work due to limited access. My zero can access but not the spreader. I'll have to purchase a $20 hand spreader for those small areas. I'll give an update after 1 year of use.

I assembled this product according to instructions and have encountered a serious problem. The cable that controls the shutoff plate in the bottom of the hopper will not move when I move the contol lever. I think that is true for two reasons. The cable is routed with a very sharp bend, and the shutoff plate does not have the proper clearance to move easily. I pushed on the lever so hard that the cable broke loose inside the lever housing. The housing is sealed so there is no way to repair it. I have ordered parts that are used on the 130 lb version of this implement so that I can convert it to a rod vs. cable operated shutoff plate. I will also remove the plate and modify it so that it moves more easily within the guide. The cost for parts to modify this device into working order would pay the difference between this implement and the much higher quality 130 lb. version. Yes, I could go through the warranty procedure but I know what they are going to tell me. I damaged the device through misuse. Go with the 130 lb version of this device and get something that works as intended.

The clearance was perfect over a newly logged area. Lots of divets and I planted cover crop. The adjuster did come unscrewed from frame probably from the bumps, but easy fix. Tires work really well. Picture shows new growth and terraine I was pulling over. 2nd photo end result!

It ought to be mandatory for a company that is going to sell a product not assembled, to assemble it before they decide it is a good product to sell. I can't see that anyone would put this together and say, "It is good the way it is". Putting it together was 'ok' to do by myself. My last step was to put the bolt through the handle(that opens the gate in the hopper for product to drop out of) and I would be ready to go. There is about 6"-8" too much cable. When the handle is bolted on, there is too much pressure and torque to even open the gat for the product to come out....and that is with nothing in the hopper, I can't imagine when weight of a product is added, pushing against the door. Spending $100+ on a product like this and then to not be able to use it, as it is supposed to be assembled, blows me away. So, now I have to leave the handle off, to be dragged around on the ground, as I am using the spreader, in order to use the spreader. Very disappointed in the final product.

Let me start by saying, I order a lot from amazon.. for like 10 years. and this is by far the worst quality, missing parts (highlighted in blue), worst packaging (non existing) not the rights colors ... item, I have ever received. How they are able to send something like this out is beyond me.. I mean wow.. no words. Anyways.. do not recommend, order at your own risk.

Bought this to fertilize and spread seed on 2.5 acres. Took me 11/2 hours to put together. No biggie. Spread 60 lbs of fertilizer no issues worked great. Tried to spread pelletized lime next and could not get the spreader gauge to work. Had to open it from underneath by hand. Will only close. Piece of junk!

poor quality especially for over $200. plus parts are missing from the gear assembly says it will hold 85 lbs it might but with regular use the spreader will fall apart.

The cable on the feed adjuster is too long , causing bends in cable that make it work too tightly and bend at control lever . Cable should be about 6" shorter and should be lubed when assembled . Other than that it went together OK .

They obviously sent me a used unit as a brand new one. Two of the cotter pins are bent so you can tell they were installed before and also there is a bolt and nut missing. The system was easy to assemble, but I would appreciate it if the manufacturer could at least verify all the parts are there before they shipped out a used unit.
