Tried this in a bind when I ran out waiting for more. Came quick and as described but not real gold. Some kind of plated base metal with a super high melting temp. Couldn't get any to flow no matter what I did. Never had this problem with other suppliers

I haven’t used it yet, but looks similar to the silver ones I ordered previously which worked fine. The package contains a very small amount of chips. If your a beginner, I would order a couple, or find a different supplier. These will be used up on 1 or 2 projects depending on how well they do.

I tested the product on 1.65mm x 2.5mm pieces to solder together and had to nearly melt them to get any kind of flow.

I was not sure whether these would melt with just a soldering tip or not so I ordered them to try. They will not melt. They need a much higher temperature.

I used this solder to repair a gold ring that had , , had to be cut off . I've silver soldered in the past but this was my 1st attempt at gold . I used eayflow powder flux (the same I use for silver) and the solder flowed well when the blowtorch got it up to temperature.

This small flakes of gold are useful only if you have a soldering iron that reaches above 1320 degrees Fahrenheit. My three soldering irons (two soldering stations and a gas soldering iron) could not reach the melting temperature even on full heat so these were a bit useless.
