So the actual valve cores seem to be good enough for what they’re for. No leaks after replacing the old one. But this kit comes with new caps too so I figured ‘why not throw the old one away and put one of the brand new ones on?’. Well the old one, being about 20 years old, was in much better shape than the 2 brand new ones that came with this kit. Both caps broke off inside the valve core with minimal tightening and now that I have thrown my old cap away, I no longer have a cap.
