I attempted to use this tap to clear the threads of a SBC cylinder head accessory hole. The hole had very minor paint overspray and no rust. While threading the tap in, it twisted off just past the threaded portion which left the threaded end completely stuck in the hole. I ended up having to drill it out and chase the threads with a real tap to finish the job. This was the first time I used the tool, and I only bought it because it looked handy and easy to use with a ratchet. there was very little resistance when threading it in, so it absolutely should not have broken. Horrible quality tool. Buy an actual tap for the same money and get something that actually works.

I was using this to make new threads. Once it was all the way through it broke. I had to drill it out and get a new one from somewhere else.
