I have a 12V DC Portable Air Compressor Pump with a digital tire gauge. It is one of my best purchases. It saved me a lot of time and effort when I need to check and inflate my tires. I have been using this for almost five years and it is still working fine. However, there is a slight issue with the screw-on connector on the pump. I can attach it without issue but releasing it would let off some air from the tire. The amount of air that was escaping during unscrewing the connector is not well controlled. It is depended on how fast I can unscrew the connector. While all tires were pumped to the same pressure, they might not be the same after I released the connector.This Lumiteco Air Chuck fixed my issue. It latched on to the air valve easily and release was a quick flick of the lever. Only a small amount of air would escape and the amount of air that escaped seems to be quite consistent. My on-board tire pressure gauge shows no deviation between the tires.The size of this air chuck is very compact. I was able to attached it permanently to my portable air pump and placed it into the furnished bag without any issue.I am a senior. While I am still able to work on my car, I like to do minimum work to accomplish the same result. Work smarter, not work harder!

Both my portable and high volume inflators have the screw-in connection type. While it is secure, it's a hassle as I always have to over inflate, as the process to unscrew the connector potentially releases a good volume of air depending on how quick I can unscrew it. These lock-on connectors are quick and also secure, AND releases only a tiny volume of air. So I don't have to over inflate and then do a controlled release to get to the correct PSI.

Some negative reviews said did not seal. So expected minor issues. There were none. Even sealed without great insert on the stem. Exceeded expectations!

Threads are made to spec and are the same as the threaded portion of a standard valve stem. This is important if you are using this to adapt this chuck to a standard straight screw on compressor connector (like I did). Worked perfectly. No leaks, and locks on every time. On top of all of these good characteristics you also get two in the package. Love it.

I've got a Schumacher jump starter combo kit that includes an air compressor built in. The connection for this was the screw on type where you'd need to screw the connection onto each valve stem. If you are doing this on the roadside for a single tire repair, it's not a big deal, but my daughter and I like to go around and top off all the tires for our various vehicles and kids toys, meaning there's a lot of connecting and disconnecting that takes place.I opted for this style of connector because it easily adapted to my jump starter, and it fit nicely in the storage on the back of the unit when not in use. Operation is very simple - flip lever horizontal, connect to tire, flip lever vertical, inflate. Removal is flipping the lever horizontal and removing. Takes about half a second to attach or detach, and you don't lose measurable amounts of air when doing so (unlike the screw on connector).For the price and convenience, I'd recommend these. If it ever fails, unscrew it and revert back to the screw on connector that came with your pump.
