Bought this carbon steel wire brush to remove moss and caked on dirt in the cracks of asphalt pavement. Attached the brush head to a regular threaded push broom wooden rod and started immediately removing the moss in the cracks with a few back and forth motions. Stubborn spots may require a little more scrubbing or angling the edges to dig in better. Also scoured and prepped the asphalt for sealing by removing any lose pavement. The carbon steel wires are securely attached to the holder and none came out during fairly aggressive scrubbing. Body is a smooth finished plastic block with rubber edging. All in all, a well made product and I would recommend, especially for the price!

The bristles were just a bit too stiff for what I wanted to use it for, which was trying to remove some moss from my front sidewalk. It worked better for me when I attached a long handle. Wish the bristles weren't quite so stiff.

TLDR: skip these and buy brushes with more dense pattern of supple wires!I purchased two of these brushes to remove moss from my tile roof. I had planned on mounting the brushes to broom-handles and scrub the scalloped-edges of my roof tile while standing. The stiff wire of these brushes tended to skip or bind on the rough edges of my tile. What is more, the manufacturer was rather stingy and the clusters of embedded wire are quite sparse. This led to a good number of wire bristles pulling out of the brush during use.In the end, I resorted to kneeling and scrubbing with two 2x2" wire hand brushes I already owned after removing the bulk of the moss with a nylon broom.Perhaps there is an application where these stiff wire brushes would work adequately on a smooth surface, but for concrete tiles or coarse stone, I would recommend purchasing something else.

I bought this to scrap moss of rocks. It doesn't work on black old moss but works 75% on fresh green moss. It is a bit awkward to use as very stiff + one must be very careful about the ultra sharp wires.
