This item was a perfect solution to my aftermarket temp' gauge problem. I could not remove the temperature sensor that my Jeep's computer reads to install my new gauge so I needed a way to place the new thermocouple into the cooling system in a different location. This was perfect. I was able to splice it into my upper radiator hose and get the new gauge installed. Now, this joint comes threaded for the small-type sensors for electric gauges so it's tapped for 1/8" NPT which is too small to use with an aftermarket mechanical gauge, most of which come with a 3/8" NPT mounting nut. Sorry, if you're going to use it for the same gauge-type that I did then you'll need to drill-out the hole and tap it for 3/8" NPT which is what you see in the photo. If you don't already have the right drill bit, tap, and reamer then that's going to be a bigger investment to get this to work. In my case it was worth it; I had no other options. Anyway, I hope this helps you. I love this item and will recommend it to anyone I know who is trying to solve the same problem that I had.

In my mk1 Volkswagen caddy the factory temp gauge is not good. Always shows odd temps and goes up and down while driving. After installing this with a aftermarket temperature gauge i know get steady readings and after months of use the clamps hold up and no leaks. Would recommend and also adds some color to you engine bay!

Good product but super cheap garbage clamps. I had to use my own clamps because the ones that came with it were absolutely junk. One broke when tightening it and other clamp was bound up and could not loosen or tighten it.

Look as nice, had it on the tractor for about 2 hours now with no issues.
