I purchased this after trying other inexpensive chair mats that were basically just thin rugs that never would lay flat or had kinks in it from being folded for delivery. I opted to spend a little extra and give this a try. It is PERFECT. First of all, it has a thick backing and gives protection to the floor but also allows the wheels to move. Secondly, NO CREASES! It comes packaged wonderfully. You just pull it out of the flat cardboard box, unfold once and it lays perfectly on the floor immediately. Quality is great. I wish there were a few more color combinations and choices but overall I am happy with this for my office! I got the thinner version for hard floor surfaces since I have tile.

The short version: best chair mat I've ever used, and it makes my chair more comfortable and easier to roll. And it looks good! If you're using it on carpet, you should probably get the thicker version.I'm not a fan of the clear plastic chair mats that most office stores sell for use on carpet. Most of these are designed for very low pile office carpet and are not appropriate for use on thicker carpets in home offices. They're often not thick enough to resist bending under the weight of a seated person, so the casters on your chair will tend to create divots in the mat and prevent easy rolling.I tried a few bamboo chair mats which were improvements on cheap plastic mats. They look good, and chair casters roll well on them. But these mats tend to flex when casters roll between the 2 inch-wide slats, and the use of rubberized gripper dots rather than carpet anchor studs allows these mats to "creep" along the carpet over time. The bamboo also tends to crack and split. If it were easier to source a thicker version of these mats I think they'd make a fine option.The Anji Rug'd mat ended up being the solution for me. They're readily available in a thick version that does not bend or buckle like thinner plastic mats. Rolling on them is nearly as smooth as rolling on a hard floor. Because it folds into just two halves, it is stable and does not flex like the bamboo mats made of 18 narrow slats. It uses rubberized dots rather than carpet studs and still doesn't stay put completely, but the weight and thickness of the mat tend to keep it from creeping along too much. And it looks great. With the wide variety of patterns available, it should be easy to find an attractive mat that suits your office.My only concern is the durability of the woven surface. I bought two of these. The "Tabriz" pattern in blue has a tight, uniform weave that is holding together very well. The "Figueres" pattern is made of an assortment of earth-toned geometric shapes and the weave alternates along with the shapes. In some parts of the Figueres mat the strands of the weave seem to be less tight than that of the Tabriz version. Only time will tell if they both hold up, but so far so good.

It looks so nice in my office. I can roll on it very easily. It is very well made, feels very solid without being bulky. It lays flat on my carpet “which can be difficult to findâ€! Everyone thinks it’s a rug!!!

This chair mat is quite impressive and amazing. It looks and feels so much better than the normal clear plastic ones we've used for years. Thought about getting a glass matt. But could not get over the concerns about it cracking and the high price for the better ones.Love the design. It feels like it will hold up well over time. It ships folded but once you open it up the fold seam magically disappears.

This mat is thick with a quality design that looks more like a woven area rug than chair mat. The backing has rubber dots that should be protective to a hardwood floor. Way more attractive than the clear/rubbery mats and a great way to elevate your office space.

I bought the 1//2" think mat. When you spend more than 1/3 of your life in your home office, why not buy a chair mat that looks terrific and is made of sturdy materials? That's what I asked myself when choosing this chair mat. I've never had a chair mat that wasn't inferior in some way, and all were safety hazards to bare feet. I'm surprised that there aren't more products like this one available on Amazon.com! (Maybe people like me are being studied to see if people are willing to pay $164 in total (which included sales tax). I can't discuss durability, value for money, and sturdiness until I've used it for six months. For the time being, I'm happy with my purchase.

Where has this been all my life?!?! I’ve been working from home for over 10 years and have always used those ugly clear plastic mats for carpet. These mats are amazing in quality and work well even on carpet. Plus, they are way prettier to look at.

My husband is tough to please and we both give this chair mat a thumbs up. It does not slip and is thick enough to protect our new flooring. These mats are easy to install, and are sturdy, but you won’t have to lay them in the sun to get them to lay flat, just open the box, unfold it, lay it down and you are ready to go, We both love the color and we are very happy with our purchase. Highly recommend.

Just beautiful! Who would've thought you can combine a gorgeous looking rug and a floor protector? Chair rolls smoothly. Material looks top quality.Would've made it 5 stars if not for the expensive price.
