The mat is thicker than I expected (3 mm thick in the main work area) and it lays perfectly flat. The resistivity of the mat may be a little high for some ESD sensitive work. My very rough measurement of resistivity is 10^9 ohms per square, which is the high end of the range they advertised. That may not be an accurate measurement, but I was able to show conclusively that the mat is much more conductive than my desk. The grounding wire resistance is about 2 ohms. The wrist strap is conductive and attached to the wire with a 1M resistor, which is normal and important for the safety of the user. The size is perfect for small electronics projects. I like that it gives me some protection against ESD damage while reducing the risk of burning a hole in my computer desk.

Anti static May is good value for the money and I have no problem with the original seller. I do have a problem with the Amazon delivery drivers for not reading the special instructions provided on the initial purchase. It took three delivery attempts before I got the May delivered and even then the driver did not follow the specific delivery instructions. I hope someone from Amazon reads this and initiates some driver training to learn to follow instructions!

I am an electrical engineer and have used some very expensive ESD pads at work. I am very happy with the quality of this mat. It lies flat. Has no smell. It is perfect for home electronics. (The ESD bracelets are lower quality but functional. I am happy the bracelets were included with the mat.)

I do a lot of pyrography and I purchased this mat to protect my work area. I usually do small pieces so it's the perfect size for my needs. I've taken a hot tip and held it for a second against the mat with only a slight dot to show for the effort. Definitely worth the purchase for me!
