Works as designed. May not be ideal for a tank with a lot of decor or substrate but it does the job. I am using it as a back up filter in my turtle tank. It would probably be able to keep up with a small tank with a few gallons of water by itself but the filter is not overly robust. It is not super easy to take the filter out to change but the device will come apart so the pump can even be cleaned, you just have to remember how to put it together again. It stays in place very well and looks fine in the tank, with normal filter noise.

I had this filter for my Green Eared Slider's Tank for about 5 months. It worked for the most part but required a lot of excessive cleaning. But then one day, it just randomly stopped working.I tried changing outlets, washing it out, making sure my turtle's tank had enough water, giving it a break, and nothing worked. I would definitely want an item revolved around use for aquatic animals to last for longer than a year since mass replacement can get expensive among other things. I've spent quite a bit of money on filters and was confident this one would be the ticket. But now I'm not so sure.

I got this less than a year ago. First filter worked fine after a while it stopped cleaning as well, so I bought replacement filters. When I changed the filter and but it back in the tank, it was not turning on anymore. I contacted the company and they gave me no explanation just sent me a new one. The new one worked fine until I changed the filter again and it stopped working completely. I contacted the brand again to see if I was doing something wrong. They told me changing the filter did not cause it to stop working, and gave me no solution. It claims it has a life time guarantee and when I asked to use it I never got a response.

What can I say? It filters my turtle tank and it's mostly quiet. No complaints.
