It works fine in my turtle tank, I’ve had to change the filter weekly and I couldn’t find any in my local pet stores or big box stores so I made my own. It’s small so it fits nicely in my tank, it runs quietly, easy to use just put the filter in and go.

It is good for low water as my setup uses less than 2 gallons. So it does suck good...My problems are the first one I got arrived damages missing parts and not useable .I ordered a second on which is sucking but is not as quiet as some say it is plus the suckingis putting water through the lid . But being can't be without it I am ordering a third onebecause I can't fine one that sucks low water as well as it does.Someone said something about customer service but mine also came with no paperwork.So I feel 4 stars is it for now.

This filter was great at first because of the low water level ability and it was easy to set up but within 5 days the water was completely green and where the water filters and pours into the tank, it was all “soapy†looking.. I thought maybe it was something I did so I cleaned my turtle tank again and changed the filter AGAIN and within less than a week, sure enough the water is murky and barely see through again with the water looking soapy again (the picture is 6 days after the second filter and water change). The noise level is fine but I just don’t think the filters are good enough for aquatic reptiles.It was cheap so I guess I should’ve guessed it wouldn’t work at all.Granted my turtle is a rescue turtle who was found with a lot of algae on its shell but I have bought a lot of other things to help with this and brushed a lot of it off so my only conclusion is that the filter just isn’t good.My nephew has an older turtle with a higher quality filter and even if he leaves food in the tank the water never looks the way mine does, I even bought a net to fish out old food and it hasn’t changed anything. I really just don’t recommend this filter at all.

I have a 2 gal tank, and have previously used sponge filters for it. This filter is SO quiet, doesn't cause a lot of water agitation, and my little Betta seems to love it. It fits nicely in the small tank, and I simply plugged it in, no priming, and it started filtering the water. So easy to set up. Great value for the cost. Thumbs up!

For small tanks, it is great....keeps water flowing and clear. It is not noisy, perfect size, great value for your money, great performance no complaints. I'm one satisfied costumer.

1. i measured it as 210 L/hr, not 280/hr, but close enough.2. the suction cups are useless, the device sinks to the bottom over time.3. the included hanger is useless. i had to drill holes in the back and make my own hanger.4. very quiet, though.
