First, figure out where you want the barrier placed. I recommend putting the guide ends on the tubing and then let it float by itself on the surface to get the perfect installation points for the suction/slide rail.Make small adjustments in cutting the tubing to the optimum length. Make gradual changes to the placement of the suction/slide rail along the aquarium wall.If you're patient and go back and forth with making tiny adjustments in overall placement and tubing length, this works really well in holding back surface plants like duckweed.I like how it adjusts with daily tank evaporation, although it takes a little time initially to get the tubing set up in position.

It does what I need by containing my floaters in a specific place. But the big anchors is not very pleasing to the eye.

I needed this product to keep my duckweed away from the filter in a circular tank. It works great! No longer is my duckweed at deaths door due to the flowing water. As a bonus it provides an clear patch for me to feed my fish.

It is a little bulk and the suction cups don't suck. I followed the instructions but they suction cups have to be forced onto the glass to stay put

I've been keeping fish for around 5 years now. However, this is the second year that I have had a planted aquarium. Over the summer, I decided to introduce duckweed into my aquarium. I love the addition because it has given my fish extra confidence when it comes to swimming around the tank, however, it clogs up my filter. I've been testing out different products on amazon, and thought I would make a video on some items from amazon to recommend it to new fish keepers. I am VERY disappointed by this product. This may work if you have large floating plants, by it will not work if you have small floating plants like duck weed. The corral doesn't fit flush against the aquarium wall, which allows smaller pieces of duck weed to get past, and into the filter. It also doesn't stay together. There are little rings that holds the top floating pieces. The rings on this are WAYY too big. The top part kept sliding down.My recommendation to new fish keepers:Look on Amazon or in stores for airline tubing. They make aquarium safe tubing that you can purchase, and you don't need a lot! I believe this is better because it will go up and down as you add water or remove water :)

Set the spacers perfectly to allow the trap to move up and down with the water level. Some plants can sneak in at the connection points, but keeps the majority in/out!

The quality of this kit is very questionable. If you have large floating plants this MAY (leaning towards not) work for you (👎ðŸ¼). The tube used to actually separate did not stay at water level/above at all, literally defeating the purpose of the tool. I also may have gotten a defective order, because the hook-like pieces attached to the glass holding the tube were bent inwards creating a huge gap that all of my plants were able to fit through. For reference, my floating tank plants go toast of water spangles and duckweed.

Works as intended. A little tricky to set up so it floats properly with the water level, but great once that is sorted
