I am use to a different brand but they seem to have quit making this filter. I was happy to come across these. They seem to be just a tad larger and a tight fit. They function just the same and are well built. The price seems about right. From what I see this is the only company making this filter.

These are nice filters but I didn't realize they weren't 1 size/type fits all so they don't work for the set-up I bought them for. Hopefully, they will fit in the other one I got first, if not, I can open them and use them in my other refillable filter. They are of good quality too.

These are my preferred carbon filters for the undergravel system in my tank. They fit as they're supposed to and do the job for which they're intended. It is recommended to replace these filters once a month or so, but I have discovered over many, many years of having aquariums, that you CAN let them go longer before replacing. With proper maintenance of the tank, that is; especially with an undergravel filter system. Once your tank starts to look blah and things seem like they're building up then defenitely replace the filters. I will purchase no other filters as long as they continue to make these!

I change my carb-heads every 3 months..change the air stone at the same time....with a powerful duel out let air pump...you will see the difference in the water quality in your aquarium
