This thing is a beast. Stays primed and I have no issues with it at all. I wish the timer had a bypass so that I can put it on a WiFi switch, but it’s still worth it. I’m a few months into this one and 100% more confident in it.

Small pump for 3/4 HP not standard fittings. Had to adapt pipe fittings in order to get it fitted.I would spend the extra money and get a better pump.(Original post)Oh well, let's see how long this one last. I hope it proves me wrongAfter the installation and operation this pump, I have a new perspective. It works strong, better than the cheap Intex pump that came with the sand filter upgrade. I was unable to properly vacuum the pool with the Intex pump and had to build an independent pump/filter set up to properly vacuum. After installing this pump, it has plenty of power to not only filter the pool water but enough power to properly vacuum the pool.If I get several years of dependable service, I will buy again. After the installation, I emailed my pump information to the manufacturer. To my pleasant surprise, they immediately responded and advised that the pump has an additional year of warranty. They also advertise to contact them immediately for any issues.

This review is for "AQUASTRONG 3/4HP Above Ground Pool Pump, 115V, 4332GPH, 1.25"&1.5''Connection, High Flow, Powerful Self Primming Swimming Pool Pumps with Filter Basket"This is a 3/4 HP pump with no variable speed. If you are seeing this review below a completely different item (such as 2HP variable speed pump), then the product has been switched after farming positive reviews. This pump works incredibly well for my fish pond, however, I decided to downgrade to a 1/2 HP pump after 2 months as the flow rate was actually too high for the 4,000 gallon pond. I can't speak for its longevity, but it performed very well for me, although a bit louder than the induction motors that are commonly used in swimming pools and aquaculture

This pump is amazing. it's programmable, it's powerful, it has a strainer basket, it's quiet. BUT it does say 1.25 inch connections for hose and that is wrong. It has 2 inch, 1.5 inch and the best way screw adapter. Honestly if it had the 1.25 inch connection like stated I would have given 5 star

I have a small above ground pool that I am replacing my failing Haywood 1hp pump that came with my pool after many years of service with this AQUASTRONG 3/4hp pool pump. After a lot of reading on pump sizing, I realized the 1hp pump was way overpowered for a just under 4000-gallon pool. I'm pretty sure the pool store I purchased the package oversold on filter and pump size. The result is a lot of wasted energy and money as the 1hp is 13.8 amps vs 5.5 amps used by the Aquastrong 3/4hp pool pump.Overall, this pump is very compact and fairly quiet. It is easy to install, plugs into a standard 120v outlet and comes with various fittings for connecting via 1.25- or 1.5-inch pool hoses pool hoses or 2-inch PVC piping. The pool pump body is made of thermoplastic that resists corrosion which solves for the failure of my current pump which rusted / rotted the metal support stand and into the pool motor casing. However, the filter basket is significantly smaller than the Haywood which will mean more frequent cleanings for items that get by the skimmer. Additionally, I find the lid to the filter basket is difficult to get on and off requiring a considerable amount of muscle. On performance, the pump is and states a maximum flow rate of 72 gallons per minute. The gist is to make sure you have turnover of all the water in the pool within a 6–8-hour period at least once but preferably twice. So, in theory this should turn over a 17,000 pool twice in 8 hours or 34,000-gallon pool once in 8 hours. NOTE: Other factors can affect / lower the gallons per hour (gpm) flow rate such as filter type and piping size but, if you search for pool pump sizing on the Internet there is a lot of good info on how to calculate all this. I suggest searching on "Pool Pump Size Calculator (with Examples)" which will bring back a list of several sites and videos on how to correctly size for your pool filter. For me this pump supplies a good cost savings as the Haywood 13.8 amp pump I had draws 1,656 watts where this Aquastrong pump at 5.5amps only draws 660 watts. And, this pump performs well if you size it correctly to your pool size, filter and piping. With a two-year warranty as compared to one for many others and a great price, this is an excellent buy.
