These brackets are hard to line up on the mailbox and post. Since they are installed underneath the mailbox, you have to install them one at a time, removing the mailbox each time. So you set the mailbox on the post, put a bracket underneath it and line it up, remove the mailbox, screw down the first bracket, set the mailbox on again, lined up with the first bracket, line up a second one, remove the mailbox, screw down the second one, and so on. If you only put one screw in each bracket, they can pivot a little bit so it doesn't have to be perfect. It's still a pain to install, so I ended up just putting screws through the bottom of the mailbox into the post. That was much easier. Also it only comes with two wood screws for 4 brackets, so they expect you to use one screw for 2 brackets, which would make it even harder to line up. You probably need two additional wood screws. I guess that's what I get for buying something that has NO reviews!
