Good quality focal reducer. Cheaper than Celestrons own brand. Works well on Celestron Nexstar 8se. Great for wider field of view. Especially good for Astrophotography of DSO'S

I was looking for a focal reducer for my EdgeHD 8 that wold give me a wider view than the Celestron f/7 reducer. This focal reducer works well and is inexpensive. It works well for my uses and I'm very happy with it!

I wanted to get a full image of the moon using my Celestron 8SE goto Telescope. I learned that I needed a focal reducer. Compared this one too one offered by Celestron. And this one was half the price. The image quality is excellent. The product feels very sturdy and comes in a nice packaging. I don’t use it that much, but for Imaging, the moon, it works better than expected.

This focal reducer is working well both visually and for photography. And at a better price than the one from Celestron. Using it my old celestron 8i scope and am very happy.

I have a 10" LX200 Classic f/10 and wanted to increase the field of view. This reducer works pretty well. Just remember to get the right extensions for your camera. I use an old T3i and have been able to get some good photos. The only downside is that it creates some really strong vignette in all the frames. Flat frames and processing does a good job of trying to remove this, but I struggle to remove it entirely. All in all, I like it and it does a fine job for what it costs. Definitely a good value over the Starizona stuff.

I had this unit for over a week trying it on my Celestron 8â€, I know obviously I need to refocus my view but the scope was insanely out of focus, once I got it in a reasonable range the scope was extremely out of collimation even though the star was dead center. I spent over a week trying to figure out how to fix colimation but it wasn’t happening. I finally gave up returned it and bought the Celestron model which worked without issues.Maybe I got one bad unit but considering you pretty much have absolutely no product support you are gonna waste more time than it’s worth for few extra bucks.
