Surprisingly good quality for the price... so, good value! I haven't measured runout yet, but the overall quality looks good, the taper angle seemed good (nice tight lockup in a Clausing 4900 lathe), and there was no noticeable slop or play in the bearings. This looks plenty good enough for the girls I go with.

This is a MT2 dead center basically a solid piece of metal. It is simple, low cost and does the job.Fortunately I know what it is and how it works. There was not one word of English on the package other than SAN YOU, I guess that is the manufacturer or tranlates to --- YOU ?It is not a surgical instrument Just like something you would find at HF store. Use it and throw away if unhappy.

This dead center is perfect for my needs. I turn wood pens and other small objects and this fits nicely into the bushings to allow me to turn between centers.

I was surprised at the quality of this center. Way better than what I expected. Only complaint is that the taper had dings in it from not being protected. I stoned them out with no ill effects.

I purchased this live center to replace the original worn out one that came with my 1949 South Bend Model C lathe. The taper fit well, and once installed, I set about turning down an 18" piece of 1" cold rolled stock to make a replacement blade guide post for an antique Delta bandsaw. I was quite pleased with no longer having to listen to the worn out bearings of the old live center while they rumbled along. This center ran true and smooth with no descernable run out. The reason for four stars is that there were two damaged areas on the knurled outer casing. This appeared to have been done somewhere in the manufacturing/shipping departments, as it was shipped in a cardboard box with fitting styrofoam packing, and the box was undamaged. The damage looked to be from significant encounters with a hard surfaced (steel) unknown item. But, it still works fine, so I am not going to return it. Hopefully, it will last a few years.

Bought this to hammer internal chamfers into small pipe parts.... worked fine for this. (I know it's not the usual usage for this, but it is none the worse for wear in this alternative application.)

Seems very well made nice ground finish no runout. Watch out for the sharp carbide tip, you will center punch your work if not lined up with center drill hole
