This shredder is great. It is a good size-smaller than my previous cross cut shredder so is able to fit under a desk. I like that it shreds quickly and the noise level is low. The bin is good size but will fill quickly if you are doing a large job or marathon shredding. The big window on the front is nice for monitoring the level of collection before needing to empty the bin. Overheating with long sessions has been rare. When it has occurred, a brief rest of 2-3 minutes and it was ready to go-so down time is minimal. Very happy with this purchase!

Received Aurora shredder, but was obviously used. That’s the second time I’ve received used equipment. I don’t mind as long as Amazon tells me it’s used.So far it’s working fine. Fairly quiet, no jams after two bins worth of paper. Easily accepts ten sheets at a time. Ran it continuously for 40 min and no overheating. I think this is a good home office product.

After checking stores and reading reviews I decided on the Aurora AU1060MA in white. My previous shredder was cross-cut, but you could still read the pieces of shredded paper so I chose the micro-cut. This machine is slender, has a 6 gallon container which easily pulls out and I like that it has a long window so you can see how full it is. With the micro-cut pieces being so teensy (like grains of rice) it’s impossible to tell what was shredded and it takes longer for the container to fill-up. It rolls easily, has a modern look and is light weight. I lightly inserted nine sheets of paper that were stapled together; they went in easily, shredded quickly and quietly. I read one review that mentioned using a plastic bag inside the bin for easy disposal, but when I called Aurora Customer Service, whose number is listed on the shredder, I was told not to put a bag inside the container since it could interfere with the function of the LED indicator lights and cause damage. The container is easy enough to remove and empty into a waste bag. It’s a breeze getting rid of mail since we get lots of unsolicited mail, daily. My only concern, which one reviewer mentioned, is the not so good quality of the “rev-auto-off-fwd†switch; it’s kind of cheap but hopefully there won’t be an issue with it. Otherwise this shredder is perfect for my needs and I'm glad I picked this one.

I have owned this shredder for four years and it has worked flawlessly. I have had no issues with it shredding all my documents and credit cards. This one shreds paper into very small pieces- not quite as small as a government shredder-but more than good enough to keep anyone from ever putting them together. I highly recommend.

Chose this as it was listed as a top pick on another website. Not the cheapest option but fairly priced for what it offers and how often do I need to buy these? For me, it's quiet, shreds in really fine pieces, and looks clean in the office. For what I want a shredder to do, it seems like a solid and dependable choice.

This machine does an excellent job at micro shredding all kinds of documents, credit cards, ID cards, light cardboard.It has never shut down due to overheating, even after hours of continuous shredding.Very easy to operate and to empty and is very quiet.

Great shredder for your money. Shreds at the micro level. Great for a home office. It can take staples, small paper clips, credit cards as well.

I’ve become a bit paranoid about security since we had some credit cards hacked (not sure of the right word). We had an older shredder from an office I used to work at but it finally went to shredder heaven, so I did my research and chose this. There are more powerful units, and units that can do more pages at once, but this one seemed to strike the right balance for us. It has gotten “home-office†use, so not an overwhelming number of pages per month. Within this use pattern, it’s been rock solid. The paper bits are tiny compared to other shredders, so I’m a whole lot more comfortable that the bits can’t be put back together (seriously, if someone takes the time to reconstruct any document from these bits, they are going to be very disappointed anyhow…)Definitely a worthwhile purchase.
