Finally got the aftermarket gauge working on my 7.3 IDI. Was a little tricky to get enough tywraps on it to hold it in place, I couldnt get the band around it like the manufacure recomends. Maybe when I change the belt. But its working, thats what matters.

I have had this same model previously for 10+ years until it finally stopped working (due to vibration, moisture, etc). The new one works just as the old one did, as expected. I expect many years of service from this new one.

First of all this is not a stand-alone unit. It is a replacement part for the magnetic pick-up found in the "Auto Meter 9112 Universal RPM Signal Tachometer Adapter for Diesel Engines". You need the whole kit to get this to work. Please do not be misled.Second, right out of the box the ground wire detached from the unit making it useless.
