Had something like this and put it in decades ago, still working, well 90%, doors open a bit. Still happy with it. Surprised a cheap residential closer works so well.

The installation was easy, but when I opened the door, the unit did not hold the tension in the spring. I can hear a pop sound like the spring had skipped the anchor point, and failed to have tension to close the door. The unit is defective and useless.

I have a door that leads to my basement that doesn’t have a knob with a lock or latch. I needed something that would prevent my cat from going in the basement. I found this level thing and it works great. It is spring loaded. You can adjust how hard you want the spring to be by spinning it before you install it. It’s easy to install with screws. It was a no brainer. My cat is unable to open the door and I can come and go into my basement easily. The materials are metal and strong. The price was just right.

It was easy to install, but after a few uses it gets weaker and does not close the door. I have readjusted four times, but seems when the door opens to far the spring pops and loses it strength and must be reset, but is no longer strong enough to close the door completely.

This thing works if you get it just right… for a day. Then it starts to falter under the stress you require it to handle. It needs grease, yet doesn’t have a good way to administer. If you don’t have the diy skills to make this an everyday-use product, nor the materials to do so, don’t think about buying. I happen to have grease for my farm equipment at the ready, but still I have to take the thing apart to actually do so…. I ended up just throwing it away after a few days because it’s not worth my time to fix.Nice thought, bad engineering, not practical in the long term.

Installed on my shop door, replacing a heavy metal part hanging on a cable. Along with some rubber foam, I was able to eliminate the cringe slamming. It's now a pleasant thud. It must have taken me ... 3 minutes to install this. Very happy. One in the center was all I needed. The extra bolt that comes with it is used to wind up the spring and is then removed.
